What Charlie Kirk and our Family Were Planning Next - Many people have asked about the exact nature of our friendship with Charlie, so we thought it best, in the interests of truth, and because nature abhors a vacuum, to be transparent. There has been some speculation. Nevertheless, the truth is that our friendship and counsel contributed to the growth and expansion of Turning Point at several critical moments in its history, much more than many people may realise. At certain times, our friendship was not merely helpful but genuinely important—indeed, mission-critical—to both Charlie and Turning Point, to America and to Peace. For the most part, we kept our friendship private and separate from the organisation's executive structure. We communicated directly because we both understood that the nature of what we were achieving together, and its potential, would seem extraordinary to most people. Much of it sat so far outside what passes for conventional reality that Charlie and I often chose to tell the lesser tale. When we met in London in May 2025 and reflected upon all that we had achieved together, we both agreed that our support for Charlie and Turning Point should be strengthened. Charlie again invited us to attend his Turning Point event at Mar-a-Lago that December. He had extended the invitation every year since 2018, and each year we had politely declined. This time was different. Having taken stock of our friendship and what it had accomplished over the previous seven years in May 2025, we both felt that the connection between our families should be strengthened considerably. Accordingly, we agreed that we would attend. Charlie also wanted us to meet with JD Vance @JDVance , the President, and a number of new Turning Point executives whom he intended to appoint in new roles as part of an upcoming reshuffle. In the months that followed, Charlie also began implementing significant organisational reforms. As part of his preparations for the future, he authorised what he described internally as a DOGE-style review of Turning Point's operations, expenditures, and organisational structure. It was clear that he was not merely thinking about the next election cycle but about how to strengthen the organisation for the years and decades beyond it. It is perhaps worth noting that many years earlier Irina and I had flagged up JD Vance with Charlie after a European friend had drawn our attention to him and suggested that he might one day become an important figure in American politics. At that time we had never met JD, nor did we have any connection with him whatsoever. This was mid 2019. We simply thought Charlie might find his ideas and perspective interesting. Charlie subsequently formed his own view and developed his own friendship with JD, and came to hold him in extremely high regard. By 2025 it was clear that Charlie regarded JD as one of the most important political figures of the next generation. He believed that JD should one day succeed President Trump and continue many of the reforms and principles that had become central to the America First movement. Charlie had already devoted considerable time and energy to helping create the conditions for that future and had successfully raised substantial funding from donors who shared that vision. One of the reasons Charlie wanted us to visit him again in America was because he wanted us finally to meet JD in person. He believed that the conversations would be valuable and that the friendships and relationships being formed around that next generation of leadership would become increasingly important in the years ahead. He also invited us to visit America even sooner because, for the first time, he wanted me to appear on The Charlie Kirk Show and speak openly about our friendship, our shared projects, and how we had achieved what we had together. The introduction to that discussion was a story that concerned immigration issues. He had become increasingly interested once again in the international potential of Turning Point, in the future of Britain and Europe, and in how the war in Ukraine might be brought to an end. He was equally concerned about Gaza and how the terrible suffering there might cease, and he wanted to understand what practical steps could help bring about a lasting peace in the Middle East. Charlie wanted to discuss recent developments in the United Kingdom and abroad because he genuinely believed that peace between nations was both possible and necessary, and he was increasingly focused on understanding how that might be achieved. Our conversation in London focused not merely on immediate political victories but on who would follow Trump, continuity, and how the movement that we had helped to strengthen could endure beyond any single individual. Charlie was thinking deeply about the future and his own role in it. The Charlie Kirk Show itself has roots and origins in conversations that we began having in London in 2018. When we met in Israel in March 2019, and during numerous discussions from Switzerland and elsewhere, Charlie was already contemplating a future presidential run. We recognised that if he was ever to pursue such an ambition, he would need a legitimate means of creating substantial financial independence over the following decade. Presidential campaigns in America are not for the impecunious ( Financially Challenged ). From the outset, Charlie understood that there were practical and ethical limits to what one should earn from non-profit activities. Donors rightly expect their contributions to be used responsibly, and Charlie always respected that principle. A separate media platform, however, would be an entirely different matter. As a commercial enterprise built around a talented communicator, the opportunities were considerable. Charlie greatly admired Rush Limbaugh and what he had achieved. Together, we brainstormed how a platform could be built that would carry some of the same strengths while reflecting Charlie's own distinct style, energy, and personality. And which woudl allow him to immediately counter Deep State Lies, Black Propaganda and Disinformation programs and psy-ops. In December 2018, I introduced Charlie to a significant media-owning family whose young scion admired his work and expressed serious interest in supporting the sort of platform we had envisioned. We helped to strengthen that relationship, and they spent considerable time together in the United States. Ultimately, the media platform structure evolved differently from our original discussions, and Charlie entered into other different partnerships and arrangements, which we fully supported. Nevertheless, those early conversations formed part of the genesis and essence of what would eventually become The Charlie Kirk Show and his wider media platform. For that reason, it is neither strange nor unreasonable that we should care deeply about preserving the ethos, standards, and principles with which those ideas were originally imbued. As they were great we would like to see them continue. We are certain that Charlie and our family would have gone on to achieve many more great things together. The text exchange below demonstrates that, after a period of waiting, we were actively planning for us to visit Phoenix and spend time with Charlie. Due to our own family commitments, that trip was temporarily postponed in early September. The exchange is important because it demonstrates that our friendship was not historical, exaggerated after the fact, or based upon occasional contact. We were actively discussing future projects, a visit to Phoenix, an appearance on The Charlie Kirk Show, and ways to strengthen our shared work. Charlie's own words make clear that he believed such an interview would be significant and impactful. We were looking forwards, not backwards and we were expanding our relationship. In London we helped him to understand how to approach a new mega donor that we hoped would help to take things to the next level. Throughout everything that happened from April 2018 onwards, our friendship never faltered. Indeed, it would likely have remained largely private were it not for one overriding concern. The attacks upon Candace Owens @RealCandaceO for asking legitimate questions, coupled with the obvious discrepancies and unusual circumstances surrounding Charlie's death, created a situation in which silence no longer felt responsible. Had those discrepancies not existed, you would almost certainly never have heard from us publicly on these matters. Likewise, had Charlie's legacy, ideas, intentions, and achievements not appeared to be in danger of being altered beyond recognition, we would have felt no need to comment at all. We have no desire to place ourselves at the centre of this story. Charlie is the centre of this story. However, when a friendship has lasted for years, when future plans were actively being made, and when matters surrounding a death raise legitimate questions amongst those who loved him, silence can become a form of negligence. Our only purpose in speaking publicly is to help protect those Charlie cared about, preserve the integrity of his life's work, and ensure that the values and principles for which he stood continue to benefit America and the wider world. We are communicating about these matters only because we believe that doing so increases the safety of those he loved, helps preserve the truth of what he achieved, and assists in ensuring that his legacy continues to inspire and benefit future generations. Charlie was, above all else, a builder. He built friendships. He built organisations. He built opportunities. He built a movement that encouraged millions of people to participate in the future of their nation. The Charlie that we knew was not standing still. He was accelerating. He was making plans. He was building relationships. He was thinking about the succession of the US Presidency, leadership, peace, prosperity, a repaired peaceful relationship with Russia, Peace in the middle east and what America and the wider world might look like in the decades ahead. We believe it is important that future generations understand what Charlie actually stood for and what he genuinely hoped to achieve. In time, as more facts become known, as they are every day, and as the nation heals with truth, we may have more to say. We certainly have an interesting archive. For now, however, I hope that this small insight into the reality of our friendship provides useful context for those who genuinely care about Charlie, his family, his legacy, and the truth.
