@NigAirForce Absolutely. International partnerships with the US, UK, and others are crucial for strengthening our military capabilities and ensuring security. Unlike Russia, these countries are not exploiting us for their own benefit. ALFS Accra

NAF–PAF STRATEGIC ENGAGEMENT STRENGTHENS OPERATIONAL CAPACITY AND BILATERAL AIR POWER COOPERATION The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening operational capacity through strategic international partnerships, as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Marshal Zaeem Afzal, paid a high-level courtesy visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at Headquarters NAF, Abuja, on 22 April 2026. The engagement underscores the NAF’s deliberate efforts to leverage strategic alliances to enhance mission effectiveness, interoperability, and sustained air power delivery in support of ongoing operations and national security objectives. Describing the visit as timely and impactful, the CAS stated, “Our enduring partnership with the Pakistan Air Force continues to deliver tangible gains in training, capacity development, and operational effectiveness, directly reinforcing our ability to project decisive air power.” Air Marshal Aneke further emphasised the importance of expanding existing cooperation frameworks while exploring new frontiers that would promote efficiency and self-reliance. He noted that the evolving security landscape demands deeper collaboration among allied air forces, adding, “We must sustain and broaden our areas of cooperation to enhance interoperability and ensure our forces remain agile, responsive, and mission-ready.” The CAS also expressed appreciation for the consistent support of the PAF, acknowledging its pivotal role in advancing the professional competence of NAF personnel and strengthening critical operational capabilities. In his remarks, Air Marshal Zaeem Afzal commended the NAF for its professionalism and warm reception, describing the discussions as productive and forward-looking. He affirmed the PAF’s commitment to deepening the existing partnership, noting, “This visit provides a valuable opportunity to build on our shared history and further strengthen cooperation in ways that deliver practical and mutually beneficial outcomes.” The visit, which was attended by senior NAF officers and the Defence Adviser of Pakistan to Nigeria, Colonel Kamran Mushtaq, reinforces the shared resolve of both air forces to advance strategic collaboration in support of regional stability and global security. #NAF #PAF #AirPower #StrategicPartnership #DefenceCooperation #OperationalExcellence #Interoperability #NationalSecurity

@NonyeAyeni Absolutely. Partnerships with the West, especially the U.S., are crucial for Nigeria. We need to focus on our own development and not get bogged down in conflicts that don't concern us.

It was a pleasure to receive the Managing Director of Guinness Nigeria earlier in the week. At the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), we are intentional about partnerships that deliver results. And engagements like this remind us of what is possible when industry leaders align with national priorities. Thank you, Mr Girish Sharma and your team. Truly, there is a lot we can do working together. #doubleyourexport

Yet again , austerity does not create wealth. Statements like this serves only one purpose and it’s to play to the gallery. We have a wastage problem but it’s not our biggest problem. I am more particular about a president more willing to interrogate long standing structural issues and help galvanize a well coordinated effort to “grow the pie” and improve human capital.

“When I became a governor, the cost of running my office was equivalent to the cost of running a Ministry of Education office. As a governor, if you want to travel to Abuja, about 30 people will follow you, people who have nothing to do with where I am going. I had to cut everything off. A governor also has an office of the First Lady, who nobody voted for. Inside that office, we have SA to the First Lady and other roles. I had to cut off the whole structure. When people talk about cørruption, they think it is only about ste@ling public money, but they forget that paying people who are not productive is also part of cørrûption.” —Mr. Peter Obi, speaking at the ongoing fourth public lecture of Coal City University in Enugu State.

@JusticeChined18 @Omojuwa If you did not see the hands of politics in all you highlighted, you are a learner. The moment USA withdrew it's embassy staff in Abuja, the wise already knew this is what will happen, increased insecurity cos the Americans have gotten hints of the plans from their terrorists

I knew Peter Obi had no chance with the ADC ticket. But I am one to always verify things. That verification process is now complete. I had some important meetings recently and I can say, this is now a Done Deal. I have a strong idea of who will fly the ADC ticket but in this game, only a bird in hand is a bird that’s yours. But I am 100% percent certain of who will not smell it. My next move is to ensure that when the Obidient group leave the ADC, they don’t leave with the prized asset they have been working day and night to drag along. Concluded these meetings too even as I await the outcomes. I will send you myrmidons into political oblivion. This is for Wole Soyinka, Tunde Onakoya and Jaffi Joffa and all that they represent. And all the unknown names and faces that have been bearing the brunt of your ill-fated group.

@MobilePunch It's really frustrating to see how much of our resources and attention are being drained by these terrorism-related issues. Our government is allocating ₦1.37 billion to fight terrorism. This shows how deeply rooted the problem is in our country.

So This Happened (EP 389) reviews: FG budgets ₦1.37bn for terrorism trials The Federal Government has allocated ₦1.371 billion in the 2026 budget for the prosecution of terrorism-related cases, marking a significant increase from the previous year. The move has sparked debate among Nigerians, as questions continue to trail the reintegration of some “repentant” insurgents, with many asking whether the justice system is consistent or selectively applied. #viralpost #sothishappened #punchnewspapers #Terrorism #NationalSecurity #NigeriaNews

In January 2019, absolute terror descended upon the DusitD2 complex in Kenya. While most people instinctively fled the chaos of the coordinated terrorist attack, one man ran directly toward the danger. He wasn't officially deployed, and he wasn't acting on military orders, he was simply out running errands when the it started. But true warriors are never truly off-duty. Meet Christian Craighead, an off-duty British SAS operator. Geared up and guided by his deep Christian faith, he repeatedly breached the besieged hotel. Bearing the Jerusalem Cross tattooed on his wrist, the historic symbol of the Crusader Kingdom, the knights of the Holy Sepulchre and the Five Wounds of Christ, he embodied the absolute spirit of a modern-day knight. Operating largely alone in a highly volatile environment, he methodically cleared rooms, hunted down the attackers, and personally escorted hundreds of terrified civilians to safety. For his absolute clarity and unimaginable courage under fire, he was awarded the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross. A Catholic man with a crusader spirit, putting everything on the line to defend the innocent.

The only time Nigeria was obsessively committed to fighting terrorism was 15 years ago, however, that mission was immensely sabotaged by Nigerians from the north. The fruit of that sabotage is what we reaping today, and that could be our undoing. General Azubuike Ihejirika, COAS from 2010 - 2014 was probably the best Nigeria has seen. Think of Captain Traoré Agility. Well, Ihejirika had it twice back then. When Nigeria’s security problems were just starting, General Ihejirika fought very hard. He went into the terrorists’ hiding places and killed many of the bad guys. Most people in the North got very angry. They started a big campaign to damage his name. They criticised him more than anyone else.
They harassed him more than anyone else.
They accused him of many things, all without proof. President Jonathan picked four top army chiefs, but only General Azubuike was attacked from every side. The Arewa Consultative Forum attacked him every day. Borno elders also spoke out strongly against him. Because he was killing so many terrorists, they said he was taking revenge from the Civil War.
Some accused him of committing “genocide”. For God’s sake this is a dude who in just 18 months as COAS, Fvcking pushed Boko Haram out of Maiduguri. When that did not work, they accused him of helping terrorists. They tried everything possible against this man.
In the end, they forced him out. Fifteen years later, the “Prodigal Sons” are now killing Generals.
The brothers of the “Prodigal Sons” were very angry because General Ihejirika was killing too many of them.
