There’s no doubt that Civil War is a massively accomplished film with a great central performance from Kirsten Dunst. It’s prophetic. Violent. Thought provoking. But also a wake-up call considering where American politics is at the moment.

Is there an award category for location finders? If so whoever researched the amazing locations for American Star should be in line. Ian McShane at 82 has the face to match the scenery and carries this film with ease and grace. Glad I saw it.

I’ve just watched the bonkerest film. Grand Theft Hamlet, combining GTA with Shakespeare. Potty and I’m sure great fun for gamers.

@BritComSociety I remember Ray Brooks turning up at Silk Sound studio when Big Deal was the most popular show on tv. He was looking dazed having just been stopped in the street and complimented by a fan. The fan was Sir John Gielgud the most eminent Actor of his generation. Ray was overwhelmed.

The Guardian is still trotting out this plea for new subscribers: “Bad actors spreading disinformation online to fuel intolerance. Teams of lawyers from the rich and powerful trying to stop us publishing.” etc etc Why not just say “Bad lawyers” ?
