AI-related layoffs are bullshit. Even when coming from companies I profoundly respect. Don't get fooled. There is a reason why that mostly happens with public companies.

@krishnanrohit People don’t take to change very well and lot of people don’t enjoy learning and actively resist it. This change has to happen faster than people can absorb it - so there’s no time to coddle and beg people to learn - so it’s much easier to swap people out.

One bearish sign of all the AI layoffs is that the companies couldn't figure out how to produce even more by keeping the people and adding AI. I'm not entirely sure how to think about this.
