Liverpool can’t start next season with the same managerial team in the dugout. It’s would be negligence on behalf of the owners. Injuries can have a profound effect on a season. But they should never affect effort, tempo and leave us with zero tactics throughout the season.

Having followed the reds for 60 seasons now, I’ve (of course) seen several dips where we have fallen below our normal levels and been off the pace. But I can honestly say that in all those 60 seasons this is the first one where I no longer look forward to seeing us play.

Is there anyone out there who genuinely thinks that all this team needs is some signings and a pre season to turn this around. We are so far behind the level required to challenge it's actually upsetting. We have some leaders leaving in the summer, we've some players who are regressing, at a serious rate. Arne Slot has not put the fire in the belly of this side in a long time. There's no spark and no belief.
