STATEHOUSE PRESS RELEASE Wale Edun, former Finance Minister, and Musa Dangiwa, Housing Minister, resigned; they were not sacked Former Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, duly tendered his resignation from office, citing health reasons,  before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced his replacement on Tuesday. Also, the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, similarly resigned and thanked the President for the opportunity given him to serve in the Federal Executive Council. Edun, who clocked 70 on Monday and has battled recent ill health, fittingly submitted his resignation letter on his birthday, thanking the President for the opportunity to serve Nigeria. “It has been a pleasure and privilege to serve your administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda”, his letter read.  “Under your leadership, Nigeria has emerged stronger, more resilient and more internationally respected. “I wish you and the administration every success in the future”, he wrote. On Tuesday, before the Office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation announced his departure from the Cabinet, Edun paid a valedictory visit to the President at the Villa. He held an hour-long discussion with the president and then left to focus on his private businesses. Dangiwa, an architect, previously served as the managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank between 2015 and 2022, as well as  Secretary to the Katsina State Government, before President Tinubu appointed him as housing minister in August 2023. Edun, an economist and investment banker, served as Lagos State commissioner for finance between 1999 and 2004, during the tenure of then Governor Bola Tinubu. Before then, he worked from 1980 to 1986 at Chase Merchant Bank (later Continental) in Lagos. He joined the World Bank in September 1986 through the elite Young Professionals program, where he worked on economic and financial packages for several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.  In 1989, he co-founded Investment Banking & Trust Company Limited (now Stanbic IBTC) and served as executive director. In 1994, he founded Denham Management Limited, which has since become the Chapelhill Denham Group. He served as chairman from 2008 to 2021. President Tinubu has expressed deep appreciation to Edun and Dangiwa for their dedicated service and significant contributions to the administration’s economic reform programme and wished them continued success in their future endeavours. In the same vein, the President has urged the new Minister of Finance, Taiwo Oyedele, to consolidate ongoing reforms and advance the administration’s fiscal and economic objectives with renewed focus, discipline, and innovation. President Tinubu will shortly send the ministerial nominee for housing, Muttaqha Rabe Darma, also from Katsina, like Dangiwa, to the Senate for confirmation. Nigerians rejected Peter Obi today. Decisively. For a movement whose greatest weapon was social media, the public collapse of the Obidient brigade carries a particular irony. They had reach. They had noise. They had numbers online. What they chose to do with all of it was weaponise hate, traffic in vitriol, and dress bigotry up as political conviction. Power without responsibility is just a mob with a megaphone. That is precisely what they were. They will not be missed. This is the first day of the last days of the Obidient group. ADC funerals will handle the rites.

Good evening, sir (Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi) @BOGbadams How are you doing, and how’s the family? Great, I believe. Sir, I see that your passion is evident, though it seems to be influenced more by strong emotion than by verified facts. It was interesting to see how swiftly conclusions were drawn and judgments delivered in the court of public opinion without the discipline of due process or patience for institutional procedures. The confidence with which you prescribed “detention, trial, and dismissal” was remarkable. One might almost assume you were privy to findings the rest of us have yet to see. Even more telling is the quiet disappearance of your earlier position, which I have helped you to screenshot. It speaks volumes, especially for someone of your age and presumed exposure, where restraint, depth, and balance are expected. That said, social media verdicts do not determine accountability within the Nigeria Police Force; accountability is determined by established investigative and disciplinary frameworks designed to ensure fairness, accuracy, and justice. If there are indeed issues, they will be addressed thoroughly and lawfully, not theatrically. Until then, it may be more constructive to allow facts, not emotions, to lead the conversation. Have a great time, sir.

🚨 Arne Slot sends message to fans ahead of next season: 🗣️“This season? Not good enough—simple as that. I hear the noise, I see the criticism, and I take it. But this isn’t where Liverpool stays. We’re going to rebuild, we’re going to spend, and we’re coming back stronger. With the right backing and mentality, this team will be fighting for every trophy next season. Stay with us—because next season, we change everything. Doubt us now if you want… but next season, we change everything.”

Sometimes I look at what you say and I compare it to the number of followers you have, and I wonder why and what you used to convince them to follow you Maybe it’s giveaways you used or it’s just mob that don’t have their own brain to think for themselves You look at Atiku and thought in your mind that he would step down for Peter Obi Atiku has been out since he finished his 8 years as vice president, contesting against everybody, to be the president. Even when another man from North contested, it still didn’t stop Atiku from contesting I mean when the chance of him was so narrow, it didn’t discourage him from contesting Nothing has stopped him from contesting every time He has used half of his wealth, chasing to become president. The last time he contested, he finished as the runner up, beating Obi with big margins Now he is 79 years old and he is giving it the very last shot, and you think anyone in this world will convince him to step down for Obi? The fact that you’re even not sure whether Atiku will step down or not says a lot about your IQ Why did Obi not step down for him in 2023? 😂 Well, maybe you are intelligent and you know the truth but you’re just chasing Elon money like the rest of us 😁
Morris Monye@Morris_Monye

This Atiku on Arise TV doesn’t look like who will step down. He’s even saying that kwankwaso has only Kano and that Kano sef is now divided and he (Atiku) is the most popular man in the North.

Former presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the 2023 general election, Dumebi Kachikwu, has alleged that the faction of the party led by former Senate President, David Mark, is being backed by the presidency to weaken opposition chances ahead of the 2027 elections. Kachikwu made the claim during a press briefing, where he dismissed suggestions that he was being sponsored by the government, insisting that his political positions are independent. “I don’t think anybody who knows me or my antecedents will suggest that I’m being bankrolled by the presidency,” he said. He, however, alleged that there was a covert alignment between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and certain elements within the ADC. “In my last press briefing, I alluded to the fact that President Tinubu and these geriatrics who claim to be ADC are working in cahoots,” he stated. Kachikwu questioned the decision of the Mark-led group to align with the ADC despite ongoing legal disputes within the party. “I asked Nigerians: if David Mark and others could explain why they left other parties without court cases and came to the ADC, which already has multiple court cases. There is something fishy there,” he said. The former presidential candidate further criticised those accusing him of being sponsored, describing them as individuals struggling to remain politically relevant. “The men who make such claims are people who don’t have a 9-to-5 job and are trying to restore their personal economies after decades in public office,” he added..
