iOS 26… something about it just doesn’t feel right. Are we really heading in the right direction? I’m already missing the vibrant colors of iOS 18…. that playful, lively vibe. This feels like a sudden, heavy shift into something dull and colorless… and honestly, I don’t think anyone was ready for it.

@i486nugget and by “better”, it was meant “better than the previous iteration of this concept”. Whether its better than 8 itself or not is highly subjective.

The alternate Windows 8 concept updated, did some changes to make things better visually and in terms of UX as well.

@pertuksz I dont think such animations would make it to this mod. 1. Its kinda impossible to do so without losing sanity 2. lets assume one manages to do so, whats the use? for an OS, such animations are overkill, and even moreso for an OS that’s meant to replicate 2002.

@nitzukai honestly I couldnt care less, it works as it should without breaking anything or the aesthetic, especially after using windows 11 for so long that nothing seeks more broken than that.

when you switch the colour themes in macOS 15.1, the Privacy section in Control Centre shows that Control Centre has used Screen Recording. this happens because, when you switch to Dark Mode, the system takes a screenshot to make the transition smoother. seriously Apple....😀🙃🫠

The File Manager in Windows 3.1, dating back to the year 1992, provided customization options for the toolbar, a feature still missing from Windows 11's File Explorer to this day!
