He heads south through a parking lot toward a pedestrian tunnel under Campus Drive. ~11:53 a.m. — At the top of the stairs before entering the tunnel, Robinson pauses, pulls a cellphone from his right pocket, and appears to text or manipulate the device. He then puts the phone away and walks down the stairs into the tunnel, keeping his right leg mostly straight. ~11:53 – 12:02 p.m. — Robinson exits the tunnel into the parking garage area and walks up the stairs to the second level. While ascending, a visible bulge is seen in his right waistband area underneath his black shirt — consistent with a concealed firearm. He continues to keep his right leg straight. ~12:02 p.m. — Robinson walks along the north side of the Losee Center building with the same stiff gait, then south on the sidewalk along the east side of the building. He enters the Losee Center through doors on the southeast corner. ~12:15 p.m. — Robinson walks up stairs to the common area adjacent to the Losee Center and approaches a short concrete wall separating the common area from the rooftop. ~12:17 p.m. — Robinson climbs over the short concrete wall and crouches down on the north side of the wall on the rooftop. ~12:22 p.m. — Robinson stands up, runs across the rooftop toward the west side (overlooking the courtyard where Kirk was speaking), and scoots closer to the edge. He then lies down in a prone position near the edge, facing west toward the event. ~12:23 p.m. — A single gunshot is heard. Charlie Kirk, speaking under a white canopy in the courtyard, is struck in the left side of the neck and collapses. Robinson suddenly stands up and sprints north across the rooftop — a sharp contrast to his earlier slow, restricted gait. ~12:23–12:24 p.m. — Robinson runs to the northeast corner of the rooftop, places a dark-colored item down, lowers himself off the edge, and drops onto the grass below. He runs north near the parking lot east of the Losee Center. ~12:24 p.m. — Robinson runs north across Campus Drive into a grassy, tree-lined area on the northern edge of the UVU campus. Investigators later recovered a Mauser Model 98 .30-06 bolt-action rifle with scope, wrapped in a dark towel, near Robinson’s escape route. Engraved casings with taunting messages were found with the rifle. A shoe impression matching Converse-style soles was documented on the rooftop edge, along with touch DNA, fingerprints, and a palm print. Robinson surrendered to authorities the following evening in Washington County after confessing to his father. He faces aggravated murder and other charges. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

BREAKING: Authorities have identified the man shot and killed on I-15 last Friday, March 27 as Sayed Mousavi, a 29-year-old living in Sandy. Investigators say the incident unfolded around 4:56 p.m. along I-15 near 3500 South, when a Utah Highway Patrol trooper’s vehicle was struck by a car driven by Mousavi, who was traveling northbound. After both vehicles came to a stop, the trooper approached and made contact. According to Utah Highway Patrol, Mousavi then brandished a knife, prompting the trooper to open fire. Mousavi was pronounced dead at the scene. The trooper was not injured. The investigation remains ongoing and is being handled by the Salt Lake County OICI Protocol Team 4, led by the West Jordan Police Department. No additional details have been released. Mousavi pleaded guilty in a case from November 2024, he was arrested in Sandy after authorities said he made threats to “kill Americans and kill the U.S.A.” Prosecutors also alleged he told police he planned to “buy guns and shoot up the Sandy Police Department.” In that case, Mousavi was charged with one count of making a threat of terrorism, three counts of failing to respond to an officer’s signal to stop, and a misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended license.
