لا نحصل دائمًا على ما نتمنى، ولا تمضي الحياة على الصورة التي رسمناها لأنفسنا، ولكننا لا نخرج لحظةً واحدة عن قسمة الله، ولا عن علمه، ولا عن رحمته. فكم من أمنيةٍ تعلق بها القلب، ثم حال الله بينها وبينه، فإذا بالأيام تكشف أن المنع كان عين العطاء، وأن التأخير كان وجهًا من وجوه اللطف، وأن الطريق الذي اختاره الله لعبده كان أبعد نظرًا، وأحسن عاقبةً، وأقرب إلى صلاح دينه ودنياه. ولهذا، فإن المؤمن لا يربط سعادته بتحقق كل ما يشتهي، وإنما يربطها بثقته بربه؛ لأنه يعلم أن الله لا يختار لعبده إلا ما تقتضيه حكمته، وأن ما قسمه له لن يسبقه إليه أحد، وما لم يُكتب له فلن تبلغه الأسباب كلها. ومن هنا كان الحمد عبادةً لا تتغير بتغير الأحوال؛ نحمد الله عند العطاء لأنه أكرم، ونحمده عند المنع لأنه أحكم، ونحمده عند البلاء لأنه ألطف وأرحم من أن يبتلي عبده عبثًا. ثم إن الحياة تعلم الإنسان، مع مرور الأيام، أن كل سندٍ من الخلق إلى زوال؛ فقد يغيب قريب، ويتغير صديق، ويضعف قوي، ويعجز من كنت تظنه ملاذًا لك. أما الله سبحانه، فلا يتغير، ولا يغيب، ولا يعجز، ولا يترك من تعلق به، ولا يخذل من فوض أمره إليه. فطوبى لمن كان اعتماده على الله قبل الأسباب، ورجاؤه فيه أعظم من رجائه فيما في أيدي الناس. فمن وجد الله، لم تضره وحشة الطريق، ومن آواه الله، لم تكسره تقلبات الحياة، ومن أيقن بقوله سبحانه: ﴿قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا﴾، عاش بقلبٍ مطمئن، يعلم أن مولاه لا يختار له إلا الخير، وإن خفيت عليه وجوهه. والحمد لله في أول الأمر وآخره، وفي المنع قبل العطاء، وفي الشدة قبل الرخاء، وما دام الله معنا، فلا فقدٌ يكسرنا، ولا تأخرٌ ييئسنا، ولا طريقٌ يخيفنا؛ لأن السند الذي لا يزول، والملجأ الذي لا يخيب، هو الله وحده.
