Açores é um entreposto de droga para os EUA; 2. O governo local é corrupto e está nas mãos dos lordes da droga; 3. Portugal tem um governo socialista/comunista que persegue os verdadeiros democratas; 4. os portugueses são tão pobres que não têm ar condicionado em casa. Estas ideias são retomadas pelos media tradicionais com destaque para a TV. E servem para embalar organizações e protagonistas da cena política. Haverá mesmo um partido que se destaca por fazer as mesmas acusações e que tem resultado eleitoral inesperado. Em 6 meses a percepção é tratada como um facto e ganha tracção suficiente para, nas discussões, normalizar o evento verdadeiro - o ataque militar.
