36-year-old man posed as a 15-year-old boy online to groom a teenage girl, sending her indecent images and pressuring her to send explicit photos of herself. Daniel Kennedy, from Crewe Road in Winterley, Cheshire, contacted the victim on social media in October 2024 while pretending to be the same age as her. The grooming was exposed when the girl’s mother discovered the explicit messages and images on her daughter’s phone and immediately reported it to Cheshire Police. At Chester Crown Court on 22 May 2026, Kennedy was jailed for 13 months, handed a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the Sex Offenders Register. Detectives described him as a “calculating, predatory offender” who deliberately targeted a child for his own sexual gratification. Definitely one to keep an eye on!

Sad to learn of the passing of former good jockey John 'Kipper' Lynch. Highlights of his career were winning the Dewhurst on Tromos for Bruce Hobbs and the Irish Oaks on Olwyn for Ron Boss. God rest him.
