The feeling hasn’t worn off and we’re not sure it ever will.💃🏾💃🏽💃🏻 To be named 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 (𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 £𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐤 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫) and win the 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞’𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 at the SCVO (Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations) Scottish Charity Awards - it’s more than just a win. ✨ It’s a celebration of every long night, every moment of showing up, every single act of love poured into our work since day one. 👏 We’re still soaking in the moment they called our name. It was 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠. It was 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠. It was 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜. And in that one moment, it felt like the world saw what we see every day - 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬, the steady growth, the deep impact. 🫶 Winning reminded us of why we do what we do: ✅ The families who now have food parcels and feel a bit more seen. ✅ The young people who walked in quietly at first, but now raise their hands to lead. ✅ The New Scots who once felt alone, now surrounded by peers they call friends. ✨ The shy smiles of young people that has now turned into confident voices. Also the awkward hellos that became loud laughs. ✅ The moments of connection our young people keep building week after week. Then came the part that took our breath away- when SCVO announced that out of 41 charities and more than 16,000 votes cast across Scotland, Touch of Love had received the highest number. 🏆 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝, “𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞.” We’re still celebrating.
