After reading more history, I’m starting to feel the real Mau Mau fighters were massively shortchanged. Some died in forests. Some were tortured in detention camps. Some lost land, families, and everything. But then you read that people like Jomo Kenyatta, Oginga Odinga, and even the Kapenguria Six were allegedly still receiving salaries while detained 👀 Over KSh 2,000 back then, which would be worth millions today. Meanwhile, the actual fighters came back to poverty and silence. Maybe Kenya’s independence story isn’t exactly how many were taught.

I said this before, and I will repeat it: Duale and this government love PR. Everything is PR. Big announcements. But the reality on the ground is very different. After Kenyans exposed how SHA is failing pregnant women and how Linda Mama was ruined, they suddenly announced what they are calling the “SHA Enhanced Package.” I went through it carefully. Most of it is recycled information already supposedly under SHA. For example: Under SHA, they are again saying normal delivery is covered at around KSh10,000. That level 2 treatment is free. In reality, we know this is not true; Kenyans have to pay out of pocket. But here is what they are not telling you. Under Linda Mama during Uhuru’s administration, many mothers could access antenatal clinics, checkups, delivery, and even C-sections with little or no money out of pocket. Some mothers would only pay around Ksh 200 in many public hospitals. And that was it, no more payments. Even babies with complications could continue receiving care after birth for a full year. Today, under their SHA, many poor mothers are being asked to pay huge amounts before accessing services. Without paying the 12,000, no coverage. That wasn't the case under Uhuru Kenyatta. And please stop lying to Kenyans that SHA fully covers poor mothers. I have personally checked this issue, and many women registering today are still seeing balances of around KSh12,000 or more. The result? Women skip antenatal clinics. Women avoid checkups. Some delay going to the hospital because they fear bills. Others are still forced to fundraise for deliveries and C-sections. And many die because they don't have that money Stop the PR. Fix the system.

Aliko Dangote changes his mind about building a 650,000 bpd refinery in Tanga, Tanzania that was he announced less than three weeks ago to Mombasa in Kenya. The $17 billion project will now be built in Kenya instead of Tanzania as planned earlier thanks to tremendous Mombasa's infrastructure. Final decision now remains with President William Ruto and Kenyans to give green light.
