Aktuell wird ja wg. der immer umfangreicheren Zensurvorhaben der Internet-Zugang über VPN immer wichtiger... Es werden ja in D z.B. auf X immer mehr Postings wg. lokaler Gesetze oder einer notwendigen Altersverifikation nicht mehr angezeigt. Wenn man dann z.B. seinen virtuellen Standort per VPN in die Schweiz verlegt (oder ein anderes Land außerhalb der EU), dann wird man davon verschont. Wer also auf der Suche nach einem preiswerten VPN-Anbieter außerhalb des EU-Raums ist, wird aktuell bei Proton VPN aus der Schweiz fündig. Die verfolgen auch eine strikte "No-logging"-Strategie, es werden keinerlei Protololle über die Nutzer deren Server geführt, so dass diese Info nicht an Behörden weitergegeben werden kann, weil sie einfach nicht vorhanden ist. Aktuell wird dort ein 24-Monate-Vertrag für 2,99 €/Monat (insgesamt 71,76 €) angeboten, mit einer 30-Tage Geld-zurück-Garantie! Was Proton m.E. besonders macht, ist, dass man über das sog. "Split-Tunneling" den VPN-Verkehr gezielt auf bestimmte Anwendungen (z.B. alle Browser und was man sonst noch will), und sogar auf bestimmte IPs begrenzen kann. Der restliche Verkehr läuft dann über die normale Internetverbindung. Das war für mich besonders wichtig, da ich bei Umleitung allen Datenverkehrs über VPN eine Menge unerwünschte Nebeneffekte hatte (Mailprogramme funktionierten nicht mehr, Seiten waren nicht mehr erreichbar). “Europe” (again not a thing cuz they’re all separate countries) isn’t strong enough to be America’s enemy. They’re not worth treating as a threat. Only China is. The biggest problem with Europeans is they can’t accept they’re irrelevant on the world stage now. I get that it’s the first time for them in almost 600 years so it’s hard to accept but the managed decline will continue until they humble and face this reality.
