Took my 11-year-old daughter to a checkup today. The nurse asked me to step out of the room. I politely said no. She said, "It's only for a moment." I replied: "My husband and I don't leave our children alone with anyone, including medical providers. Anything you need to say can be said with me here." She looked annoyed and left. The part that stuck with me? As soon as she walked out, my daughter thanked me for staying. Her eyes got huge the moment the nurse asked me to leave. Maybe I'm overprotective. But I'd rather be present and unnecessary than absent and regret it.

True story. My dad smoked most of his life. For most of the years I was around he drank probably a quart of whiskey a week. He had a number of other vices as well. But he did hard physical labor so at least he got exercise. He died at 91. Three weeks before he died he was still fast walking 4 miles a day. But he had a gall bladder operation, got a staff infection, and never recovered. The lesson I take from this - drink if you want, smoke if you want, but stay the hell away from doctors. 🤣🤣🤣

Australian homes should be prioritised for Australians. One Nation makes no apologies for putting Australians first. Foreign owners – temporary visa holders and foreign citizens residing overseas – would be given two years to sell their Australian residential properties under One Nation’s policy. Permanent residents have been accepted to settle in Australia permanently. They live here, work here, pay taxes here and build their lives here. Many are on the path to citizenship. One Nation’s policy does not require them to sell their homes. Governments routinely regulate foreign investment in housing, agriculture, infrastructure and strategic assets.  The Commonwealth already bans most foreign persons, including temporary residents and foreign-owned companies, from purchasing established dwellings, subject to exceptions. Labor extended that ban in the 2026–27 Budget. One Nation’s policy effectively only extends these bans to new homes. Politicians attacking One Nation’s policy are attacking a principle the government already applies.
