The younger sports fan seems not to resonate with NASCAR in general, regardless of the race length, Pete. They sliced 100+ miles off of gobs of races several years back; if fans wanted shorter races, wouldn't that have led to a surge in viewership? Wouldn't the move to cut race distances have kept the tracks from having to remove seats from the stands?
Every time we're told "this change will allow us to bring in casual sports fans," the end result is a smaller overall fanbase.
Stop chasing, and be unapologetically NASCAR. Hell yeah.

Shortening the races is all about making the event and experience better for the fans… you know, the same fans who have fought back against this idea for the last 24 hours.
If they don’t want it, and this is a change that still gets made, it’s not being made for the fans.

For the life of me, I don’t get how anyone could not be excited to see LeBron as a 76er. After decades of disappointment & identity as losers, this team gets a fresh start with an alltime winner and superstar.

Why are so many of you so mad about this? Every week people talk about speeding up the cautions…what’s wrong with getting closer to a 2.5-hour target like other major sports? It doesn’t have to be over three hours every week. No one is saying do 90 min like F1
