@dadez33 The IWC is so weird with stuff like this vs a live crowd. Many on this app mentioning him don’t actually care. they just see others talking about how it would make sense and they just join in. If he showed up the crowd would be dead.

@TheRajGiri That period of time was just further proof Vince didn’t fully understand what was happening in wrestling. Or maybe he did and thought if it failed it was an excuse to make major changes and show that Hunter wasn’t up for the job.

@wrestletaleszay They were doing like 7k attendance for weekly tv like 7-8yrs ago with the IWC satisfaction way worse than now and even then was signing massive tv deals and worth billions. Try to have at least minimal business understanding.

🚨 This pains me to the core, but I kinda believe WWE has like 5 years at max before they shut down or become completely unfamiliar as a product. Unless Vince McMahon buys it back and then die, I don't see what's going to save WWE from the hands of Endeavour.

@nodqdotcom It’s what have you done for me lately and recency bias. Always been like that in wrestling. Just a week ago a lot of people were saying how the build has improved and card look good and now same people want everything set on fire.

@AShowQuan Correct. I enjoy NXT but I purposely turn off being critical and just look to have some fun with it knowing it’s developmental and standards are lower. Completely different than how these fans watch the main roster.

I always know whenever people say they want Shawn Michaels booking the main roster, that they don’t watch NXT week to week. They make some of the most baffling booking decisions on that show. You wanna pull your hair out sometimes.

@Mikey_3count @aaronrift The problem is, where is the mix? I’ve had at least 5 people in my comments try to make the same point. But nobody is answering to the fact that WWE isn’t currently appeasing to more than just the casual fans. That’s my entire point and literally everybody is missing it.

My father-in-law, who is more of a casual fan, enjoyed #SmackDown. He likes Danhausen after initially hating him. I asked him about Pat McAfee's segment and he said, "Eh, it was ok. Unpredictable though!" I asked him if it changed his interest in WrestleMania and he said, "I was already interested so it didn't matter." He wants Oba Femi and Rhea Ripley to win at WrestleMania. That is what is most important to him. #WWE

Without “surface level” fans or casual fans not only would wwe maybe not be around, wrestling as a whole would be so different right now and maybe not for the better. Everything needs those fans to be bigger. Movies, sports, everything

@aaronrift This is in NO way disrespect to your fam. But this is exactly what WWE wants. They want surface level fans who will accept most of what is given to them, regardless of how the “hardcore” or “die-hard” fans feel. They want less “fans” and more “consumers” if that makes sense.

@AndrewBaydala I don’t think Pat or anyone else needs to be apart of a royal family story. I think the story is he was just reminding Randy that the Ortons are a royal family and that’s all it is. One royal family member vs another.

Morning- The beautiful thing about this app, and pro-wrestling, is that everyone can have an opinion or a "take". So have discussion and constructive criticism without bashing or believing your OPINION is the end-all be-all. I rewatched #SmackDown- I stated last night, and I will say it again, I dig @PatMcAfeeShow a lot-genuine good dude. Pat being Randy's guy two weeks before #WrestleMania seems like a major miss IF he's the actual guy. The whole character doesn't fit Pat, and if this is to play into the character he is going to play on Tulsa King, and the creative was to blend them....it's again a MISS. Pat's being the biggest #WWE brand ambassador, and has gone above and beyond to help the product, and truthfully, the fans don't want to boo Pat because they know how much he has done and wants to do for the brand. WWE has some time, and they love to sit back and watch the "IWC" go nuts, then swerve them, and I believe that will be the case here, and Pat will be a PART of the whole "more than one royal family", as Pat has NO lineage that is a part of pro-wrestling. The bigger problem for me outside of Cody Rhodes is that #SmackDown was absolutely brutal. I WELCOME your proper discussion.

I think the hate for this week's SmackDown is really overblown. People are acting like it's the "Fingerpoke of Doom" and WWE is going to collapse.

A source indicates that Ari Emanuel believes Pat McAfee is a star and will help elevate the program between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes and get it to where it needs to be, between his show on ESPN and SmackDown episodes before WrestleMania. @ShaokenStreams @GiftedMoney Exactly. It’s about merchandise and sponsors and ticket sales etc on the main as priority. Many fans think he has Vince power and just makes all the wwe decisions. He is an employee with corporate expectations like any one else.

@GiftedMoney NXT is how Triple H would book if he didn't have to worry about any other business concerns.

It’s hilarious that when Triple H was running NXT, people would campaign for him to be booking the main roster because they loved what he was doing in NXT. Now people want Shawn Michaels to book the main roster shows because they don’t like how Triple H is doing it and love what Shawn is doing with NXT. Did it ever occur to anyone that NXT is a far easier show to book? It’s one show per week that’s 2 hours. 2 if there’s a PLE. And that’s it. With the main roster you have 5 hours of television, one PLE a month, 4 SNME specials per year, and a selection of wrestlers twice the size of what you had in NXT that you gotta book every week. So then you got people wondering why Johnny Gargano isn’t main eventing PPVs under HHH because he headlined so many Takeovers. Well because those Takeovers didn’t have Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and CM Punk on them. Booking philosophy changes when you have more talent to make happy

@GiftedMoney Easier to book without daily massive corporate pressure. I like nxt but truth is a lot of people actually don’t like NXT weekly shows at all. There is more people that dislike NXT than dislike the main roster. The positivity you see online is a smaller group of NXT fans.

@rdnporta Ya I’m not confident either and not saying it will work out but just making the point recency bias always wins. For example WM 17 main event build with Debra was dogsh!t for weeks but by the end of WM nobody cared about that anymore.

The real reveal will be at #WrestleMania not a #SmackDown two weeks before. That's my opinion.
