2013. Obama is asked if he would end family separations by freezing deportations of the parents of children who were brought into the country illegally. Obama answered no, arguing that it would be against the law for him to do so. Obama: "I would be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally, so that's not an option." Family separations. Cages. Record levels of deportations. No riots. No MSM outrage. Obama deported a record number of people in 2009 and set a new record each of the next four years. In 2014 Obama's stance, as well as the stances of Pelosi, Schumer, and other party leaders, on the need to enforce immigration law completely changed. Deportation numbers began to fall drastically. Obama stopped talking about immigration law and started talking about using his pen. Pelosi continually argued that Obama had "broad legal authority" to halt deportations and that's what they did. Biden opened the border and today's Democrat politicians oppose virtually all enforcement of immigration law. All in about 10 years.
