To the folks who have ~5744 unread emails, how? How do you keep up with the ones you've been procrastinating on for a day or two?

@CBBaileyLab I will say one of the classes I learned the most from in undergrad, Biochem, had all open-book exams. Even without a pandemic, it can really help things stick for students.

@CBBaileyLab Really glad you're doing this-- I think the default approach a lot of people are taking, to just use the same memorization-y exams as usual and surveil students to get around it is so wrongheaded.

Teaching organic chemistry online means giving an open book exam tomorrow. It was a real challenge for me to write one that I thought would be appropriately challenging with all resources available.
