You can rent a 650 square foot apartment cheaper than you can own a 1,700 square foot, three bedroom house. If you’re in a place in your life where that apartment makes sense and you want to save up for the house, go for it! But apples to apples, renting is more expensive.

Where people get confused is comparing the payment on the small apartment they currently have versus the nice house they want to buy. Of course the significantly better place is more expensive to own. It would also be even more expensive to rent!

She bought the shots and expressed sympathy for the cat. That’s general kindness, which is something, but far from a genuine connection.

@Anthonysmdoyle He isn’t arguing they shouldn’t get paid (I think). Seems like he’s primarily saying there’s an unintended consequence to being able to transfer at will. Coach tells you to buckle down on defense/pass more or sit, but you simply transfer instead of improving. That kind of thing.

@MillerTimePod College sports was a for profit industry long before the players started getting paid. A lot of people were getting incredibly rich off of unpaid labor. Now people have an issue when the labor gets a little piece of the pie?

@TiWindisch Inarguably there needs to be proof for the league to punish anyone for this. It’s fine to say “we are cash strapped, but if you play well we are open to a market deal next time” Wildly illegal to say “if you do us a solid now, we will make you whole regardless of how you play”
