The First Amendment protects our right to say hateful and wrong things and prohibits the government from infringing upon our ability to do so. The exceptions to this are extremely rare. This really shouldn’t be so hard to understand.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨 Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth @PeteHegseth told me @LoomerUnleashed today that under his command at the Department of Defense @DeptofDefense: “we will be reviewing all of the animal testing contracts to make sure DOD is in full compliance with President Trump’s directives.” This is the first statement made by Defense Secretary Hegseth on this matter since @WhiteCoatWaste exposed this week that the Department of Defense currently has at least $57 million in contracts involving experimentation on dogs and cats! Nearly all of the contracts are with the U.S. Army. I asked him if he plans to end all of these contracts. He told me this was new “news to him” and he would be investigating the $57 million in contracts to find out. I also asked Hegseth is he supports the language in the House NDAA that would cut funding for cat and dog testing at DOD, unless the Defense Secretary personally signs off on the tests. He said he “will review the language” and that “DOD is committed to this, for sure”. Thank you, @SecDef! I look forward to learning about the results of your investigation into these contracts. I hope you will come to the conclusion to terminate the $57 million in animal testing contracts at the US Army so that we can put an end to taxpayer-funded animal abuse. @SenFettermanPA Trans athletes have larger lung capacities, more muscle mass, and larger physical stature than biological females. It’s unfair and dangerous. Allowing trans to play in girls sports is not a thoughtful dignified solution.

The small handful of trans athletes in PA in a political maelstrom deserve an ally and I am one. Depersonalized as “they/them” in a political ad, but are just schoolchildren. Empty show votes or cruelty on social media aren’t part of a thoughtful, dignified solution.

@McCormickProf Yes. I think anytime people demand you accept something uncritically, it makes you wonder what they are afraid of. And that is why the level of consequence has gone up and up in academia over the years as the political homogeneity has. Sacred beliefs must not be questioned.

Are there other atheists out there who can trace their eventual atheism back to the story of Doubting Thomas? The more I thought about it as a kid the more it seemed to be saying “never be skeptical of this or you're bad.” And, of course, THAT immediately made me skeptical.

I hope someone makes an audiobook of The Encyclopedia of Military History by Dupuy and The Fifteen Decisive Battles of the World by Creasy.
