Ping Ponging between monstrosity and kindness over the Abyss

Body transfer illusion is the illusion of owning a part of a body other than one's own. This is the famous rubber hand experiment and it tricks your brain. [📹 Adley and Story House Media]

When I was a kid I lived in Manhattan Beach, CA, and rented movies from the Video Archives Store. It was managed by Quentin Tarantino and his best friend Roger Avary, who would go on to co-write and win Academy Awards for Pulp Fiction. These guys were certified film maniacs. Hundreds of movies on the shelf featured their hand-written commentaries, and God help you if (after they got to know you) you rented something they deemed beneath your film appreciation level. I learned more about film from them than from any paid critic or author. So, yes, I cast my vote for rental stores to return and be staffed by people who love cinema and who will gladly guide you along your own film journey.

@EarthToGazelle I totally agree!! It’s so weird! The left is me at 18 / the right is me at 31. There’s a CLEAR age difference (& additionally I wouldn’t want to be 18 again)

sudden influx of vampire enthusiasts following me. you have all just given me a diabolical design idea. thank u

Europeans and Koreans start with similar lightness. What Koreans (and East Asians) have is higher melanin sensitivity and can tan easier. It's an evolutionary adaptation in Korea to extreme cold (colder than Russia) and heat swings. Skin color of both races also depends on the individual. So yes, if they don't block their skin they will tan but if they do protect, they get the ivory look. Why does this make you lose your shit?

Like Michael Jackson, Prince was a musical genius. He could play over 20+ instruments, was highly successful, and had incredible stage presence. MJ himself allegedly said whenever he got an idea he used to act on it fast because he felt God would give Prince that idea too. The reason he feels less visible to our generation is because he limited his music on digital platforms in the 2000s. He wanted full control over his work and felt artists weren’t being fairly paid by labels in the digital era.

Insane for Mel Gibson to make like this INCREDIBLY racist movie for like 99% of it only to sort of pull the rug and be like 'yeah what comes immediately after this is so much fucking worse' with one shot
