Yeah, so it was a production truck failure.

The fact that there was an animated technical difficulties slate last night would seem to suggest this was a production truck failure rather than a tech ops fault, although it could very well be that Prime Video inserts the slate directly into bitstream if truck signal is lost.

I'm seeing these Twitter people talking about how a traditional outlet would never experience the technical difficulties that Prime Video experienced last night when technical issues happen with live TV anyway.

Disney also would not have shut down their special order home entertainment program, which they did all the way back in 2023.

If home media was really making the comeback that keeps getting written about in these feel-good articles, Disney would not be laying off their entire home entertainment division, nor would they be outsourcing home entertainment production or distribution to Sony.

I keep saying it, but we're at a point now where even though subscription D2C streaming only recently became profitable, streaming has devastated traditional VOD/home media to the point that physical media is just a tiny fraction of what media companies earn in overall video rev.
