New Everymind-led research has shed light on how media professionals approach reporting suicide, what shapes their decisions, and how they perceive the guidelines intended to support them. The study analysed written responses from 83 Australian media professionals. Authors found that while the majority of journalists want to report suicide responsibly, they face competing pressures including editorial expectations, public interest and personal experiences.
