@Miner28K@chillenall87270@Nazgulami7 Some miners mine at a loss, some mine profitably. There is diversity in mining, some act purely rationally some mine on faith, some mine for KYC free coins some just mine for heat and gets coins as a side-hustle. People be peoplin'
i don't judge i just find it fascinating :)
What happened to $KAS if the big player and the community no longer interested to use?
Several people run the node, miner left because dont get enough with the incentive, price go downward massively
Is it dead coin can get alive back if after 10-30 years less user use Kaspa?
@Themooseisloos5@chillenall87270@Nazgulami7 Why would you mine at a loss and turn around and sell it? Just turn off at that point, you would save more than selling at a loss.
Lightning Network can process millions of transactions per second.
Fees: fractions of a cent.
Speed: instant.
Bitcoin isn't slow.
You're just using Layer 1 for everything.
That's like complaining the highway is slow while ignoring the express lane.
@Vladcostea How are you going to get said coins if they in a wallet and you don’t have the keys? Not sure why this is even a conversation in the bitcoin world. If it not my keys not my crypto why are we here again?
Instead of freezing Satoshi’s coins
Reissue them as block rewards
Make the miners compete for them
One 50 BTC UTXO at a time
Support the Bitcoin economy, not the bags of institutions that only care about the short term price of BTC against the dollar
@KastleWallet@Igra_Labs
I swapped Zeal from Kaspa L1 to Zeal on Igra L2 about two hours ago and while I see the tokens after 30 minutes (long?) they are still showing $0.00 value. Am I safe to assume this can't be the proper user experience, right?
@AshCrypto Someone is going to be upset when they get out of jail thinking they were set for life! Why the need to protect these? This is the responsibility of the wallet owner not the chain. Good bad or indifferent leave them alone it is their property not yours.
BREAKING:
Bitcoin developers have proposed BIP-361 to freeze early Bitcoin addresses that have quantum vulnerabilities.
This includes Satoshi wallets and other OG dormant wallets from the 2010-11 era.
It's a big step, as these wallets hold over 4M BTC and are at high risk from future quantum computing attacks.
@Miner28K I'm assuming this "they are still showing $0.00" means within your L2 wallet they are showing zero value? Was that Kastle Wallet?
Wallets must integrate price feeds for any network+token they support to be able to show a value in the wallet.
Your bridge txns worked fine. Evidenced by the fact that you could move them back. The zero value in the wallet is likely just because of a new network and/or price feeds not being integrated for that token. You'll still be able to see the value on @ZealousSwap DEX if you just connect your wallet there. Even iKAS shows zero value for me in Metamask.
@KastleWallet@Igra_Labs@argonmining@chillenall87270
So $1.32 in Kaspa to move it and it never actually confirmed. I was able to move it back to native kaspa krc20. I am trying again with the katbridge but that transaction is pending.
None of these swaps are working.... What am I missing?
@16bit_kaspa It’s the only way @chillenall87270 and I mine kaspa. Now if we could just get the ks5 pro back to profit so we can push all our hash into the pot.
@Dr_Gonzo_K Ships move very slowly and have literally every detail of their voyage planned ahead.
I honestly can’t think of a use case where speed is less important than this one.
BREAKING: Iran is demanding Strait of Hormuz tolls be paid specifically in $KAS.
They will not be accepting anything else.
Those who refuse will have their ships destroyed by drones.
@RionTheG Igra while an l2 does still use the kaspa l1 and provides transactions and incentives to the miners. So not like lightning. From a decentralization standpoint I get what your saying.
@hashdag@EbaratNeil@Chris_Hutch7@oneforonehaha@michaelsuttonil As a decent sized kaspa miner and supporter this thread worries me. We waited for both kasplex and igra to bring some level of transactions to help offset losses. Now it seems we are waiting on vprogs while being informed layer 2 was never good enough???
@Chris_Hutch7@oneforonehaha@michaelsuttonil L2 and EVM on kaspa - just as ethereum is stepping away from both of these in favour of simply better tech - is just wholesome cringe.
And calling it "a usecase".
vitalik.eth.limo/general/2025/0…
Chris, happy to address usecase/adoption - in more serious threads
I’ve been thinking.
If Aviv and Mr Y’s GHOST protocol had actually been accepted and implemented into Bitcoin back in 2013, would Kaspa exist today?
I know GhostDAG is a different beast from GHOST but would it have ever came to be if Bitcoin Forked to GHOST?
Should we thank Bitcoin for becoming so ossified that it made way for Kaspa?
$KAS
@Seb28_7@thekaspaonion I always think of the argument that bitcoin is more trusted than kaspa because it has been around longer. However, if kaspa has run more transactions than bitcoin with the same level of trust there is an arguments that is as trustworthy or more. $KAS.
