@1414Maple Sharks might consider 2nd straight up for Nylander.
Sharks might consider Misa and 20th for Nylander.
Sharks are NOT considering all 3 pieced for Nylander.
Fandom is blinding.
English

@filthyfili You had enough characters to include (State) in front of the word taxes.
5 letters makes a big difference between being right or wrong.
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL I didn’t have enough characters but it was a reference to the no state income taxes which I assume you’re not denying is a thing?
And if you think being able to save a couple million here and there isn’t impactful in a salary cap league, then no point in continuing this convo
English

@filthyfili Lower taxes, lower cost of living, safety, anonymity, weather are all impacts in the decision making process of a player.
But if a team with a winning culture and history comes calling all those things are secondary considerations.
Lots of things factor into decisions.
English

@texasranger_72 That is a nice philosophical view Ranger but no reality to that philosophy.
Every team has a leadership group, people that set the standard and expectation.
Everyone is part of the team and important to the success of the team but not everyone is equal on that team.
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL There is no CORE in my view. We have a well balanced Knight team. ALL contributing to the on ice play and winning as a team. All are important.
English

@rosemoczulski1 @skiordie781 So they do actually pay taxes Rose.
I corrected the person that suggested Vegas residence didn't pay taxes.
Thanks for confirming that he was wrong.
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL @skiordie781 State taxes they don't. Federal they do. Other states have to pay both
English

@jumper42 @filthyfili So residence of Vegas pay income tax Jumper?
Unlike what was suggested?
Thanks for clarifying.
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL @filthyfili NV has no state income tax is what he is trying to say. We have other taxes but nothing for state income tax

@MinorMidgetGTHL @gregknight88 100% facts. The Shanaplan was The Titanicplan...

@MinorMidgetGTHL @HennyTweets Mitchell Marner is nowhere close to a generational player. Some people have lost the plot.
English

@filthyfili Why do so many people believe that people that live in Vegas pay no taxes?
Where did that BS narrative start and why do so many believe it?
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL They drafted a cup finalist team in the expansion draft. And then used assets they were practically gifted in that same expansion draft to get the high end talent they were missing
Throw in no taxes and good weather, it’s pretty much impossible to replicate that
English

@skiordie781 People that live in Vegas pay taxes Marek
Unbelievable how so many people think they don't!
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL Nice to be in a warm tax free location where players want to play
English

@PauKyp41 @gregknight88 Vegas is further proving to the NHL that the regular season is simply 82 (soon to be 84) tune up games.
Vegas lost more games than they won, less than 40 wins, fired coached last month of season to prep for playoffs.
They are proving that regular season is just warm up.
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL @gregknight88 The core 4 destroyed my love for regular season hockey because it all felt completely meaningless
English

@theXtwitt Drafting is a great asset and an advantage if you do it better than others.
The better a team drafts the better the prospects to shop around if you have courage to make trades.
Vegas has very little loyalty to its players, prospects or draft picks. Anyone is available.
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL I guess your larger point is: there are many ways to build a team!
If you can’t draft and develop, you are just limiting your ability to trade and reducing your capacity to improve your team.
Pro scouting becomes even more crucial.
English

@PauKyp41 @gregknight88 You can pay 50% of the cap to 4 soft forwards!
You just can't win in the playoffs if you do.
IYKYK
English

@gregknight88 @MinorMidgetGTHL And in other words you can’t pay 50% of the cap to 4 soft forwards
English

@gregknight88 The better regular season players definitely got paid more but the bigger question is:
Did Leafs spending over $40m on 4 forwards hurt their ability to build a contender?
Was the mismanagement of cap the reason a TEAM couldn't be assembled?
Asking for a friend.
IYKYK
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL So in other words the better players got paid more
English

@Kotteeen @CarolFairbroth1 The bigger picture Larry was that there are several way to build a contending team.
Built through draft
Pens championship teams
Hawks
Kings
Tampa
Stars (haven't won yet)
Built thought trades/signings
Vegas
Hybrid (draft and acquisitions)
Panthers
English

@MinorMidgetGTHL @CarolFairbroth1 Not really a great example since u have to be an attractive team and city to make those signings.
Players have been wanting to go there since they were competitive since day one and players seem to love playing/ living there.
Any other team can’t just copy their approach lol
English

@Kotteeen @CarolFairbroth1 Winning trumps all Larry
If you build a great winning opportunity those are things become less important.
Players want to win, especially the ones that have never won before.
Pens, Wings, Hawks didn't have problems getting players to sign there when they were winning.
IKYKK
English

@pokerguy43 And Hart was a free agent signing.
Neither of them are the leadership or culture of the Vegas squad.
Vegas was already a championship core before either of those guys were added.
The leadership core is Stone, Eichel, Pietro, Theodore
Theodore was part of expansion draft.
