With a deeply heavy heart, I want to share something unfortunate that happened to me on the 16th of May.
My Phantom wallet was drained after someone very close to me gained access to my seed phrase during my absence Every token and NFT I had in the wallet was swapped out and removed completely.
This has honestly been one of the hardest moments I’ve faced in this space, especially knowing the amount of time, trust, effort, and memories attached to everything that was lost.
I want to sincerely apologize to every project, community, and person I’ve been working with or engaging alongside.
This situation was completely unexpected and accidental, and right now the matter is still under investigation.
This incident is also one of the main reasons I’ve been inactive on X and away from most crypto activities lately.
No matter how experienced you think you are in Web3, one mistake or one wrong moment of trust can change a lot. Please protect your wallets, your devices, your seed phrases, and the people around your digital life.
I’ll be hosting a space tonight by 8PM West Africa Time (3PM EST).
I hope to see you all there as I’ll also use the opportunity to address some issues, share awareness, and educate others so they don’t fall victim to similar situations, manipulation, or avoidable mistakes.
