Seems Lego "Smart" brick ain't off to the smartest start in the real world...
They might've wanted to cook this idea in the oven a bit longer. This kind of bad publicity is legit gonna hurt.

@LEGO_Group I very rarely post anything like this on here, but what you’re doing with this Smart play system is disgusting and blatantly greedy. My son has saved up his allowance for a smart play set for weeks, and we get home only to realize that the smart play characters in the box will only work with a smart brick that *surprise* is not included in this set. WHY ARE YOU SELLING $80 SETS WITH SMART PLAY PLASTERED ALL OVER THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOX IF THE PRODUCT DOESN’T WORK WITHOUT SPENDING MORE MONEY?! Horrible, horrible business/product decision. Whoever was convinced this was a good idea should be fired.

Agree this is a $10 set, not $20.
At $10, the value prop is strong and the quirks are easy to overlook.
$20 is a pass.

Pros:
-...& Lavender too! In a new purple color, no less
-$15 is a steal
-9+ build still captures the effort 18+ ones have
