Iranian F-5s, jets so old they date back to the Shah era, somehow slipped through advanced U.S. air defenses and struck Camp Buehring in Kuwait. The F-5's tiny radar cross-section fooled the system. Then it got worse. Kuwaiti air defenses, already on edge, locked onto the wrong targets and shot down three American F-15Es. All pilots ejected safely, but 3 of the most advanced fighter jets in the U.S. arsenal were taken out by an ally. Pakistan’s toxic culture of jealousy and envy often poisons serious public debate. Many wrongly assume that raising the Constitution Avenue issue means speaking for “elite” tenants living on rent. This is misguided. I have already written three detailed articles on the subject for anyone willing to read. The police raid on the building was conducted like a qabza group operation — without any court order or due process. This was fundamentally wrong. Human rights champions cannot claim that rights apply only to one group and not another. Due process is a basic human right that protects everyone. Moreover, the building was not illegal. The Supreme Court had earlier ruled in its favour. Yet judges often reverse their positions on appeal, creating deep uncertainty. Human life is complex. Simple, heavy-handed solutions only serve demagogues who want to con the public. If higher courts change decisions, there must be a fair mechanism: proper eviction notices, reasonable time to unwind affairs, and orderly implementation. Sudden chaos helps no one. True justice demands consistency, accountability, and respect for procedure. Jealous people will ignore these facts, burn with envy, and twist the issue to suit their resentment. Residents jolted awake at 1am. 2/ The IHC upheld CDA’s lease cancellation — that may be legally correct after years of default. But enforcement matters. Should authorities execute vacation without producing a written decree? Without announced, reasonable timelines? Can police move like this before due process — proper notice with a clear date, opportunity to comply or challenge? 3/ This isn’t just about one building. Evictions anywhere must follow the law: court order, transparency, fair notice, no bullying or broken doors until due process is done. Rule of law protects everyone — tenants, owners, the state. Midnight raids without papers erode trust. Hoping the PM’s committee ensures clarity, fairness & precedent for future cases. The One Constitution Avenue episode is not only a property dispute. It is a governance failure produced by regulatory delay, judicial overreach or under-design, weak protection of third-party rights, and coercive enforcement culture. On the available facts, the CDA had a serious legal claim: the developer allegedly defaulted on major payments and the project was converted from a hotel project into apartments. The Islamabad High Court has now upheld CDA’s lease cancellation. But the manner of enforcement—late-night police action, panic among residents, short notice, and unclear treatment of occupants—raises a separate and very serious rule-of-law question. A lawful outcome can still be implemented unlawfully, inhumanely, or economically foolishly. The better reform direction is not “let the developer escape” or “hand everything to CDA.” It is a court-supervised asset-resolution model: protect residents and bona fide purchasers/tenants, preserve the asset’s economic value, recover public dues transparently, investigate CDA’s own regulatory failure, and use professional receivership or public auction rather than bureaucratic asset capture. #OneConstitutionAvenue
