28 years ago today, the Good Friday Agreement was signed, one of Labour’s proudest achievements. Working in Northern Ireland, I saw first-hand the transformation peace brought to communities. At a time of global instability, it reminds us that peace must be built and protected.

When I was a pre-med student at Trinity College Dublin we had an “objective” lecture on abortion from the Irish State Pathologist Prof. John Harbison. He went through in great detail how abortions are performed and how they are not the simple “procedure” commonly assumed. What takes place was so grim and horrific. One of my fellow students fainted and the female students in particular were very uncomfortable. There is a reason the harsh reality is kept under wraps. And now imagine this horror happening to a fully formed baby. We have to be better than this.

When we were raising our seed round, we received a term sheet with condition of putting a DEI policy in place, we rejected this condition all together. Our only acceptable hiring policy is based on merit.

In the financial services industry, encouraging the public to invest by themselves (which means they might pay less commission) is generally seen as a bad sign. Veterans of the Crash may remember retail bank managers encouraging their clients to invest in bank shares....
