Vårt hjem står i fare‼️ House of Nerds på Vulkan er i økonomiske problemer og har i den sammenheng opprettet en Spleis for å prøve å finansiere videre drift. Helt siden 2015 har House of Nerds vært et hjem for Smash Norge og sammen har vi arrangert over 300 turneringer!

@upgamer_Nicki @pingeeecast Yeah swiss can be nice if you have the setups/time for it, but it can be very ineffective/slow if you end up with one or more floatie "dittos" (since you have to wait for the last set to end before you can pair the next round).

i think double elimination brackets are trash for most locals. the good players play 2-3 sets and then spend 90 minutes waiting for losers bracket to catch up. the not-so-good players play 2 sets and are out. amateur brackets help, but there's just so much waiting.

What if instead of a smash tournament we had a mideival tournament? Instead of “Head EO oppentrapp” we would have “King oppentrapp the first of Norway” and instead of banning players we would behead them on the main stage

There's not just one but TWO four-day Smash events in Norway this summer; Smashborg: Siege and Garelaf are both happening in the coming month, with tournaments in multiple Smash titles on offer for a very cheap price. Sees der! (Link to both events in replies)

@Nuckels Is this about Pro Controllers on the Switch (for SSBU)? For some weird reason it has a (not insignificant) higher input delay when it's wired compared to when it's connected by bluetooth to the console.

@Nuckels @JimMorrisonFox Norway alone has like 200, and we're far from the biggest scene in EU so it seems like a sane number to me

@juliaweyes @Dragmirejr Yeah seeds 9-19 today (in a 21-man bracket) was pretty close to just being one big tier of people that could be placed anywhere within it, so it's definitely hard to consistently win sets in bracket if you're in that range.

I find it so ironic that I usually do better at ultimate locals than melee locals... I am probably better at melee, but norway is better at melee than ultimate

This clip just gets better the more I rewatch it. I think the only thing that's not flawless is the weak hit knee in the end, but luckily it still killed. (Yes I am one of the players in the clip, I will not say which one).

@AnbilM2 Yeah that's fair, it does feel a bit more organic when local casters do get a chance of commentating the finals (I have no idea of how good the local casters are though, but I'll take your word for it).

@MisfireMartin The casters that get highlighted are also usually the casters that get paid AND get to commentate top 8 and top 4. I think we should grant our own talent the same opportunity is all

I think the caster lineup is GREAT, don't get me wrong. But I'm very disappointed to not see a single Nordic caster on here for Ultimate. It's a Nordic event and it should have at least one nordic caster IMO. Like Mysterio and Voravi are RIGHT THERE

@AnbilM2 Yeah from their wording it seems likely that this is all the "official" (paid?) commentators that they'll have

@Widl_Bear We might not have the biggest amount of new players in Oslo, but it's not at the point where there's no one that started playing in the past six years haha.

The Bigger House of Smash was so much fun! It was amazing to see people who started playing melee anywhere between 2005-2018(? Idk) at the same tournament, all the generations of Norwergian Melee. It has put me in such a happy mood. 🥹 (1/2)
