@SandyofSuffolk I use self checkout by choice when I can. I really don't want to stand behind a queue of people all chatting to the cashier about the weather and the niceties of the day. I just want to scan my things, pay and go. I'm 67 by the way in case that makes any difference to anything

I've never used self checkout. Ever. And I never will. Today in Aldi, there was only one person at self checkout and people queuing to use the manned checkouts. When will shops realise the majority of people don't want self checkouts?

@Zero_4 Everyone in the street is getting theirs paid too. Do you know the employment and residential status of everyone there ? No 🤔? Didn't think so but let's knock the ones who probably started with nothing and worked their whole lives to have the life they have now

@SandyofSuffolk Good for her. My son & girlfriend hiked around the world together for 5 years as cheaply as they could. Amazing experiences & memories. They're now married with 2 children (7yr & 4yr) living in Western Australia that they discovered they loved on their travels. Good luck to her

Right. Stepdaughter just told me the youngest grandson's girlfriend (20) who's been living at home for 2 years and working just 30 hours a week in M&S for 2 years has saved £15,000. She's not been paying her dad 'keep'. Sigh. Nice deposit for a flat you may think. But no. Going off travelling to Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and chucking her job in. 🙄 But the good news is....🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 youngest grandson has dumped her. 🤣

@AWilsonmhealth Also now nowhere to go back to probably to get their head back into policing mode before the next job. Canteens or just tea/coffee rooms where you could offload a bit to people who understood & had done the same are a thing of the past. Just do 1 job, move onto the next now

@zoe_bearx My grandaughter's day care did the same and they were closed on Bank Holidays so my son had to get childcare elsewhere that day, usually me tbh but not everyone has family to help and will either have to take a day off or pay someone else

@JonjayNeedham1 What!!! Surely it's cathartic. We should be way beyond having to hide the fact that these atrocities happen. Stop making it shameful and victim blaming. Goodness, it's like 2 steps forward, 6 steps backwards. Keep doing what you're doing ❤️

We are listening to someone flying by the far side of the Moon, giving detailed scientific descriptions of the lunar surface, that they are seeing with their own eyes. I literally do not have words. This is the most incredible thing I have ever witnessed.

@RupertLowe10 We also lived in council housing, owned and maintauned by our local councils at affordable rents, not housing associations. There was council housing for young couples & families but it all got sold off. Private landlords charging extorionate rents were mostly unheard of.

Owning a home is FAR more difficult for young men and women today than it was for my generation. That’s just a fact. Average earnings have not kept pace with average house prices - to suggest otherwise is ignorant. The gap has grown at an astronomical rate. The young have every right to feel pissed off, I’m angry for them. And I detest this patronising attitude of people my age that we just happened to manage it all so much better through ‘common sense’ and fewer avocados. There are millions of young Brits who work hard, take care of their money and dedicate themselves - and yes, they are struggling to find a proper home. They have done nothing wrong. In fact, they’ve done everything right but the system still failed them. I am ensuring that there is a political party to finally represent them - Restore Britain is that party. A party that supports the aspirational and committed young British men and women. Scrapping interest on student loans. Stripping back the power of empire-building planning bureaucrats who cruelly prevent sensible house-building in fair locations. Crushing the overbearing regulations that make building anything so very cumbersome. Overhauling leasehold rules which trap owners with mutating service charges. Ending the vindictive war on landlords to make sustainably renting a proper option. Slashing tax to hand back financial control. Entirely abolishing stamp duty for Brits. Because we will not tinker with the status quo, we will not conserve it, we will not reform it. We will fundamentally change how this country operates. The model must break. I will make you one promise. Restore Britain will break it.

@Sabiha1278 How do you know it is a stray. Cats notoriously wander and will go where there is food but it may belong to someone. You should check for a chip or put a paper collar on with your number to see if it actually goes home at any time

✨I’ve grown close to a stray cat at work… and now I’m torn between bringing her home or leaving her where she is.. For almost two years, I’ve been feeding this little cat who lives in a bush near my workplace. In the beginning, she wouldn’t even let me get near her. But now? She waits for me at the door every single day. She rubs against my shoes. She lets me pet her while she eats. And lately, she’s started following me when I leave, like she doesn’t want our time together to end. We’ve built such a strong bond—and that’s exactly why this decision hurts so much. Part of me feels she’d be safer and happier living indoors with me. But another part worries I’d be taking her away from the only world she’s ever known. I also live close to a highway, and the idea of her ever slipping outside terrifies me. She’s already spayed, and she’s surviving out there… but I can’t shake the feeling that she’s choosing me. If you’ve ever faced something like this— How did you decide what was truly best for the animal? Credit (Cats and Kittens)

@furbabygirl I worked 2 evenings a week in a pub, Saturday & Sunday lunchtime & Saturday evening because my husband then looked after the kids. Did it for 7 years then worked as a school cleaner & dinner lady at their school. No such thing as a pension to pay into. The pay was a pittance tbh

How many women like me were forced to work part-time when their kids were young because there was no free child care, breakfast or after-school clubs then? Pin money hardly gave us chance to build a pension pot so excuse me if I don’t feel guilty about drawing my state pension.

@mathers_georgia Can you get a big room divider instead of a crate. You can make them any shape and they can be attached together to be quite big. They sometimes feel safer in a more confined space with boundaries tbh. Just till he feels settled

Well Atticus got mad I went to Starbucks and peed all over my bed and on mattress pad. Shit. Now I’m worried he will ruin my bed that is coming Saturday. Poor baby is obviously terrified of being abandoned again. I told him it was not nice but washed sheets & am cuddling him:)

@ElishevaSays The media seems to have become lazy, just jump on some new bandwagon that will draw attention any way possible. I don't think they believe even half of what they report on. My local site puts up headlines with appalling spelling and punctuation & quite often factually inaccurate

Sorry but what the heck is going on with this? Why is the UK media suddenly fixated on dogs, seemingly to get people to question having them? The UK is a solidly dog-loving place. British people have worked with them and kept them as companions for ever. This is so weird

@ashbo4yuh Bit like everything else really. A competition to see who can outshine friends & neighbours. More worried about being the odd one out than just enjoying time spent together. Been turned into just another stressful occasion by people who don't even follow the religious context
