So all the medical people out there believing that they have some sort of ownership over the word “doctor” are making themselves look, well, dumb.

@Pam4America @__Pfeiffer @ArthurSchwartz Jill B irritates me too. That insistence of her's reflects some serious personality issues. As you said, PhDs know what goes into an MD. We know that in our culture "Dr" means MD or DO. Yet press gives her a pass - same press that made a huge deal of Trump saying he was a genius.

He's fortunate to be married to a doctor.

@MattHawryliw @Dodge_and_Weave @joerogan @digg As I stated previously, learn about what teaching really is instead of making assumptions. Talk with a GOOD teacher. I'm not saying my job isn't without perks, but all jobs have them. As I teach my students though, sometimes people have to agree to disagree.

@MattHawryliw @Dodge_and_Weave @joerogan @digg I assign an essay every 3 weeks, along with quizzes, projects, and presentations. As for planning time, it's for planning (lessons don't plan themselves), calling D and F students' parents, meetings, making copies, etc. Also, I arrive to school at 6:30 and I never leave before 4.

Just for some perspective 💜. Think of what was important to you 7 years ago and what will be important 7 years from now.

You know that, right? 150 student essays (3-5 pages) at 15 minutes to grade/give feedback = 37.5 hours of grading completed outside of school. Instead of accepting societal assumptions about teachers, you should try educating yourself.
