Fellow #Computing teachers, had anybody recently made the switch from OCR to edexcel for GCSE CS. In particularly at this stage in year 11? I am really considering as our kids program better on a PC compared to writing algorithms. But I have only ever taught OCR #computerscience

Throwback: We had our Year 10 students collaborate with university students at @LSBU to develop mobile apps aimed at assisting refugees. The collaboration and co-creation between secondary and university students was great to see.

I've been working on this #Python game for a while, and I'm now pretty happy with it. Next, I'll write a series of instructions so students can recreate it, and I'll put it all on @Tesforteachers as a #free resource.

@1jorobson @cindersandashes I was thinking the same, lower grade boundaries may not help students that left answers blank.

@MissKhanMHCC The general consensus from the pupils at the school I work was that it was horrific

@cha97michelle Unfortunately my students had the same reaction.

@MissKhanMHCC My son has been getting 8/9 on past papers. He said it was the worst exam he has ever sat. High difficulty level and he was unable to do it.

@matt_j_jackson @mrgibsonict It is worrying that the paper wasn’t accessible for even the bright students

@MissKhanMHCC @mrgibsonict Mine felt the same. The main problem was the way each topic was covered and framed - with some it was a completely different angle to past papers, and much harder.

@mrgibsonict That’s what I got from my kids, then mentioned they too many wordy questions

@MissKhanMHCC General consensus is that it was very hard and a huge step up from previous papers.
