@MrJDittman Maybe they came from Apple/IOS or Chromebook based schools.
Just gone 100% Chromebook in my classroom as a test. Early results are that having kids behind a laptop they can open/close at my command is transformational, esp. with KS3. Just need to get school wifi sorted now!

@David_K_Clark @ForrisHilier @X In the interests of balance, can anyone here tell me of a recent time where they have reported hate speech to Twitter and they've actually done something about it?
English

As I fully expected, @x has decided that the guy who urged his followers three times to find my home address and hoped I would get attacked with a machete (in a now deleted tweet), did not break its rules, which merely confirms that there are no rules anymore. 1/

@adamboxer1 My last NHS appointment involved the Dr being late for a 09:30 appointment. Three apologies were given, and at 11:30 I gave up and returned to school. Despite assurances to the contrary, the appointment wasn't rebooked and I need to see my GP for a new referral. Spectacular

some of the responses to this are 🙃🙃
sure, there *could* have been a massive emergency in a part of the hospital that deals exclusively with outpatients with conditions that do not lead to emergencies, but even if there were

I get that the NHS is underfunded and that, but I'm sitting at 0959 waiting for a routine outpatient 0940 appointment, and I just don't understand how this happens. Why are people this late? How so early in the day? Why is this considered "normal"?

@StuartLock @adamboxer1 Many in the profession laud this kind of effort. It is detrimental to our health and personal relationships and should not be something we have to celebrate and accept. It needs changing.

Amazing how you can stick a load of big words around what should be common sense people management and come up with an article published on a 'premier' UK publication. tes.com/magazine/analy…

@PaulGarvey4 I agree: set summer hols to 5 weeks & have all the schools in each administrative area (Borough, County) set the same week in the year as leave. Allocate randomly by ballot nationally. Cheaper hols for kids, more kids in school, Cheaper hols for staff, small nudge to retention

@adamboxer1 interesting discussion on context within a school on this week's pod. Currently working hard on context withim a classroom. Computers are massively distracting and physical devices to hide behind. Moving to Chromebook laptops next year to ensure they remain
