Astrea Reads - we share titles of other books our scholars may enjoy if they like the book they are currently reading with their form tutor. All of these recommended books are available in our school library! @AstreaDearne

@Raqeem01 @AstreaDearne We have a 35 minute slot backed onto our split lunchtime. Scholars return to their form tutor and read for 30 minutes. They read from a selection of books that are shared on a rota between all tutors in that year group.

@MissMercer93 @Linds_Bennett @AstreaDearne Hi, this is a similar strategy in my school. I’m interested to hear, if your y7 tutors have read the book in its entirety before? Do staff know key vocabulary to pick up on in each chapter?

This is Astrea Reads. Our scholars read along with their form tutors for 30 minutes every day. All credit to Mr Williamson for his enthusiasm whilst reading The Hobbit with Y7! @AstreaDearne
