I liked but didn't love #Superman , which is undeniably fun and engaging but also kind of all over the place. I can totally appreciate what Gunn was going for with the more sincere, corny vibe, but it wasn't for me (it might have helped if more of the humor landed). On the plus side, Corenswet is a fantastic Superman, likewise Brosnahan as Lois. Slightly underwhelmed by Hoult, who plays Luthor as more petulant and obnoxious than genuinely menacing. I'd say this is a successful (if unremarkable) starting point for the DCU. It's definitely going to be divisive, though, and will likely disappoint anyone expecting the second coming of superhero cinema.

"Thunderbolts* doesn't necessarily break the Marvel mould, but nor does it try to. It's a simple story told well, with compelling characters and a strong, surprisingly thoughtful emotional core." #Thunderbolts review: comicbookmovie.com/thunderbolts/t…

My 10 favorite movies of 2024 (in no particular order): All of us Strangers* Dune: Part Two The Wild Robot Deadpool and Wolverine Poor Things* Civil War The Substance Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl Oddity Heretic *Released in Ireland/UK this year.

#Furiosa features some incredible action sequences, but never comes close to the high-octane thrills of Fury Road. It's a very different film in many ways - commendable, but prequel revenge tale feels a little subdued as a result. Taylor-Joy rages, Hemsworth is an unhinged riot.
