For anyone who was following along, I collected all the recommendations into a list for me to work through. Fun colours as I wanted to keep track of where the recommendations came from! Very excited to get reading and reviewing!

@mathspeptalk Oh Amazon keeps recommending this to me, I'll have to check it out! Thanks!
English

@Dr_Marcus_Hill I actually have this on my to read shelf in my home after I previously saw it recommended. I'll have a read, but if that's the case, maybe not in the recommended 3. Thank you!

@suffolkmaths This is amazing, thank you! Will have to speak to our librarian when we get back to see how many of these we have!

@taylorda01 @katielockett I don't know if they ended up passing or not, they were struggling in a lot of areas, not just planning. I don't know if the sharing of resources will change with new students, we did previously. I'm hoping to train as a mentor next year, so I'll have to see.
English

@MissStarshine2 @katielockett That sort of behaviour is absolutely indefensible, and it's at that point that they shouldn't meet their standards.
But not providing a framework for teaching for subsequent ITTs based on their actions isn't the answer, I feel.
English

@katielockett @taylorda01 Oh please don't worry, I didn't take it as such!
English

@taylorda01 @MissStarshine2 Yes, same, sorry Rose, not having a go at you.
English

@taylorda01 @katielockett I feel like I remember him emphasising the need to be able to justify why/how we teach in a particular way. I wasn't the mentor or anything though, so don't know if there was more to it than that. I know if a student is struggling workload wise we can share relevant lessons.
English

@taylorda01 @katielockett Not sure of the full reasoning behind it as not HoD. They were initially accessible but I think the HoD changed his mind after one of the students we had used only those lessons as they were with no adjustments etc.
English

@taylorda01 We also don't share them with PGCEs so they get the practice of developing their own lessons. We can also adjust order or spend more time on lessons if needed. I split up direct and inverse proportion for my year 10s for example as they needed more than one lesson on it.
English

@taylorda01 Oh no that's fine. Didn't have room to add, but teachers have room to adjust for themselves. I love using retrieval grid starters for example so I will change the starter activity each lesson. It's just a way to help reduce planning time.
English

@taylorda01 Might also be worth mentioning over the first lockdown each teacher was in charge of a certain area and so we now have pre made PowerPoint's and resources for every lesson. Based on recent test analysis we're gonna go back and edit some of the resources or add additional lessons.
