What a successful morning we had for our year 5 reading morning! It was wonderful watching the children engage with their reading, and having our parents/carers into school. Thank you everyone for the support..I can’t wait for our next one! 📚

🎨 Year 5 @simonsideschool have been creating some special art work in the style of @JeanHaines & have been looking closely at her work for inspiration 🎨 The children’s own artistic piece was presented to their Mam on Mother’s Day as a gift 🎨 @MrRHoward @vikki_dick @MissTQuinn

Y2 @simonsideschool are learning all about Africa in geography so today we made Sistrums…a percussion instrument from Egypt. Sistrum translates into ‘that which is being shaken’ and they are used during religious ceremonies. #scouted_outdoor_learning #creativity

Year 2 had a fantastic first trip (finally!) yesterday at Marine Park, where they took part in an orienteering activity! They all worked super hard and set a very good example for our school. I couldn’t be prouder of them. Well done, Year 2! @simonsideschool

To end No Outsiders Week, Year 1/2 learnt some Makaton for Randy Newman’s ‘You’ve Got a Friend in Me’! The children discussed the significance of Makaton in order to create an inclusive environment. What a fantastically talented bunch! We hope you enjoy!🌟🧸 @simonsideschool
