Week 8: Room 201: Ss designed and constructed Hurricane barricades after researching the forms of energy this storm brings with it. They selected a part of the community to protect and reflected on our recent hurricane experiences. @Mitchellhcps

Kindness is catching on like wild fire in room 201! First handwritten notes of appreciation for every child, then homemade stickers that match the interests of their classmates, and now a pumpkin bread to share! Kindness can be shown in so many different ways! @Mitchellhcps

Week 2: Room 201 We started a growth chart for a LTI, tested if all animal grow creatures grew the same amount of length, selected our body parts for our “Best Part of Me” writing, practiced representing numbers using shaving cream, explored a map of the world…@Mitchellhcps

Ended a great back to school week with reading and discussing Rosie's Glasses. We learned that sometimes we need to look at something a little differently in order to be successful.

We did a fun inferencing lesson from “Comprehension Connections” where I convinced everyone I stole a trash bag from a neighbor and used it to make guesses about them! You’ve raise excellent citizens- because they were VERY worried about me stealing someone’s trash! @Mitchellhcps

This week in room 201 @Mitchellhcps : Selected water bottle stickers to represent us, observed and planted succulents, investigates the inside of an aloe plant, learned about different perspectives with Ms. Bringham, our new Guidance Counselor. AND WE LAUGHED A LOT! 💙🌵

Today we start our end of year I-Ready testing! My students have transformed into people who love to read books of any genre and are passionate about their learning! They are also compassionate towards others and know how to invent and problem solve! So proud of them! 💪🏻📚

HAPPENING NOW: Fire Chief Barbara Tripp gives commendation to young hero in a surprise presentation to him and his class w/ @AddisonGDavis

Jonathan is a second grader at @mitchellelempta and @TampaFireRescue Chief Tripp presented him with this commendation for his heroic actions. Jonathan alerted his family to a house fire, likely saving their lives. We are proud of this outstanding student for his bravery!

Heroes don't always have to wear a cape or be a certain age! @Mitchellhcps 2nd-grader Jonathan Sanchez helped save his family in January after his house caught fire. Today, he was recognized for his heroic actions & was presented a plaque by @TampaFireRescue Chief Barbara Tripp.
