I have said it before and I’ll say it again. This is NOT half term. We have ended the term. This is the Easter holidays before the start of summer term. When we get a week in may, THAT is half term!!! Basically, if it’s one week, it’s a half term. If it’s longer, then it’s not.

@nicolajharvey @smithsmm So true. I really struggle with observations even if it’s our own staff, I get so stressed and completely go to pieces so my true teaching isn’t observed. I’ve never had any complaints from SLT and always had fairly good feedback but still the pressure of it really hits hard.

@smithsmm Yes! I have an excellent teacher in my phase who inevitably and unnecessarily worries if there is a five minute pop in.

Classroom observation tells us very little about teaching , apart from as a snapshot of that moment on that day. We’ve moved away from observation as they are a pretty invalid way of judging what’s going on beyond the surface.
Yet Ofsted seem to have stepped back in time

@myClevertouch my IWB in class is constantly freezing itself. If I freeze it using the blue button on my remote, when I unfreeze it by pressing blue again it will unfreeze but then freezes again straight away. I have tried updating and it is still doing it. Any ideas? Thanks

I’ve been asked to deliver some training on adaptive teaching to our staff as a new ALNCO but we have also been told that we are not to differentiate as research shows its ineffective 🤔 so this book would really help get my brain around it all.
