♻️ 📚 Adopt a Book 📚 ♻️ On Thursday pupils will have the chance to take home a ‘new’ book. We are looking for donations of 1 or 2 books from home that you think someone else in your class would enjoy. Please bring in any books by Wednesday. @Kinneil_PS

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scots Poetry Competition 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 A huge well done to our class winner who gave a fantastic performance at assembly and the Burns Supper. We are so proud of you ⭐ @Kinneil_PS

🚸Rights🚸 As part of our January challenge we have been exploring the word ‘dignity’ and how it links to our rights. Our reps led discussions in their groups about how we show dignity to each other and we added this to our class heart ❤️ @OurRightsKPS @Kinneil_PS

🏉 Rugby 🏉 P5 have really improved their passing skills in their rugby sessions and are looking forward to playing some small games in the next few weeks. @Kinneil_PS

💧 Volume 💧 P5 have been practising their estimating and measuring skills. We looked at the capacity of different bottles and discussed how much water could be in each. We then used a range of devices to accurately measure the liquid. @Kinneil_PS

🏉 Rugby 🏉 Starting this week, P5 will start a block of rugby sessions. Therefore, our P.E days will be Tuesday and Thursday for the next 6 weeks. These sessions will take place outside so please make sure active uniform is appropriate for the weather 🥶 @Kinneil_PS

🎉 Happy New Year 🎉 It was lovely to welcome everyone back today for the new term. We were also happy to welcome Miss Retson who will be joining p5 for the next 11 weeks ⭐ @Kinneil_PS

✏️ Note Taking ✏️ P5 are practising their note taking skills. We have been researching rainforest animals and collecting facts from our reading books. Our focus has been organising our notes under headings and using bullet points. Our next step - create something new with them!

🚨 Sale 🚨 We still have some lovely gift tags left over from the Christmas Fayre. You can now buy one for 20p or 5 for a £1. P5 will bring them around the classes this week. @Kinneil_PS

🎄 Enterprise Fayre 🎄 A huge thank you to everyone who came along and bought something from our stall. P5 put a lot of effort into making fabulous items to sell and were very proud to work out they had made a profit of £60.05. ⭐ @Kinneil_PS

💰Adding Money 💰 On Friday we put our adding skills to the test. We visited the Wonka shop, which was full of all the fantastic sweet treats we have been designing and making. We worked with a partner to use written or mental strategies to add up the correct amounts. @Kinneil_PS

🍫 Movie Afternoon 🍫 We had a very cosy afternoon watching Charlie and the Chocolate factory to celebrate the end of our topic and our reward for winning our ‘beat the teacher’ challenge. @Kinneil_PS

🐶 Dogs Trust 🐶 We had a fantastic session with Louise from @DogsTrust. It was great to hear the ways we can look after and love our dogs in a safe and caring way for both us and our furry friends. We all made promises to work on at home. Ask us what ABC stands for🤩 @Kinneil_PS
