Year 5 have been continuing their art project - sculpting circus masks. In this lesson, some children were continuing to use Modroc, while others were using paint to put their designs on. @BurfordPrim

Last week, Year 5 started their new art project. We are focussing on sculpture and were introduced to our task of creating a circus themed mask. We explored how to use Modroc to create a mould @BurfordPrim

We have been using our iPads this week to support our shared reading lessons. We have been able to zoom in and highlight the text to help us answer a range of comprehension questions. @BurfordPrim

On Friday, we set aside some time for independent reading for pleasure. The children enjoyed exploring our book corner and reading a book that was of interest to them. @BurfordPrim

On Thursday, we continued our art project by practising the skill of shading to add depth. We practised tonal shading, value shading, hatching and cross hatching. I think it looks really effective! @BurfordPrim

On Monday, we started our new project: Identity. Year 5 are focussing on physical disabilities/difficulties that can impact people’s lives. To put ourselves into other people’s positions, we had a go at mouth painting! @BurfordPrim

On Wednesday, Yeah 5 practised their chopping and slicing skills with Mr Nightingale. They made a delicious, healthy pasta salad. It looks like they enjoyed the finished dish! @BurfordPrim

On Monday, we played a game called ‘On the chair’ in Year 5. The children had to communicate and work as a team to put themselves in a given order without stepping off the chair. It was tricky, but their good use of communication helped them to succeed! @BurfordPrim

In Year 2, this morning, we got active in PE. We were practising underarm throwing. We showed fantastic listening and teamwork skills, and we talked about fairness in competitions. @BurfordPrim

Today, in Year 2, we started our art project. We walked around our classroom 'gallery', looking at artwork by Lauren Child. We shared our favourite piece of her artwork @BurfordPrim

We had such a fun day today learning about healthy diets! We practised our chopping and slicing skills and made some delicious fruit kebabs. We tried lots of other exotic fruits too! @BurfordPrim
