A long 1st full week - filled with getting to know a new set of learners, gaining info from assessments, building our stamina back up, new routines + extra-curriculars. I’m tired, but their giggles in moments like this are the best reminder of what our job is about💜 #brainbreak

A whirlwind #BackToSchool week @AshleyOaksPS ! 💜 My favourite part was our STEM challenge of cue card castle building in teams. They were engaged & felt first hand how important working together towards a goal is. Great start to grade 3!

Very proud teacher today! Grade 4/5s @AshleyOaksPS finally performed their Fairytale plays for primary students. Amazed at their dedication, bravery and enthusiasm. It was incredible to see so many different Ss shine in this project 🌟💜 Popsicles to celebrate!! #artsmatter

A fun return to learning #wipebookwarmup in #deakin45 this morning! Gave students a picture prompt and asked them to write potential real life scenarios/Qs without stating it was a fractions talk. A nice intro to new unit and got Ss relating it to so many real examples 🤗

We love a #wipebook warm up in #deakin45 ! 🖊️ Ss shared how they feel more confident working on these surfaces & using teamwork. Hoping they continue to develop their confidence to successfully solve math problems anywhere! We also ❤️ when @AshleyOaksPS teachers are in the Qs 👨🏻‍🏫

Rewarding positive behaviour is the best feeling!! ❤️ We’ve been working hard in #deakin45 to earn points for successful school days. 11 Ss earned invites to a 🍕party & are so proud- asking “can you take a selfie with me & my invite Miss Deakin?” So many Ss close behind! 👏🏼

A great time had by all on our field trip to @LdnEEC on Monday! Ss in #deakin45 got to try snowshoeing for the first time & had so much fun finding #animaltracks & spotting #habitats ! Our students are still talking about our amazing time of new experiences💜 @AshleyOaksPS

When the amazing students in @Miss_Deakin use @microbit_edu in the @AshleyOaksPS #tvdsbllc as an anti-theft design and say it's not loud enough...so we hook it up using alligator clips to @Bose speaker!

Being friends with @dtangred is always the best. Especially when he gives us “tea only” teachers the VIP treatment with a special delivery ❤️ Thank you DT for all the positive ways you contribute to the lives of others, professionally & personally! We’re all better for it 🤗
