Y6 experienced a hands-on cooking session linked to their learning about Ancient Islamic civilisation this term. The children worked together to prepare a delicious chickpea stew and falafel, exploring traditional ingredients and flavours while developing their cooking skills.

This week, our brilliant Year 6 scientists explored Newton’s theory of light and discovered how we see colours. They used colour filters to see how light can be changed and combined, helping them understand that white light is made up of many different colours. 🌈

As part of our learning about the Ancient Islamic Civilisation, Y6 explored the flavours of West Asia in DT. They made a delicious apricot & honey labneh. After tasting, pupils carefully identified different flavours & textures then rated it using their own evaluation criteria.

Y6 had a visit from PCSO Shelley today! The children learned all about the age of responsibility, how to be a good citizen, and ways to stay safe in the community & online. They also had important discussions about respecting others, online behaviour & standing up to bullying.

We were incredibly lucky to have a visit from STFC’s Harrison Minturn this afternoon! We heard all about his journey into professional football & our Sports Leaders asked him some fantastic questions. We can’t wait to watch Swindon v Crawley on Sat together at the County Ground!

@LisieDavies My daughter loved this unit so much too and talked about it lots outside of school - I had to buy the specific copy of the book so that she could be Miss Bentley at home! She practised writing sentences and drawing story maps without any prompting from me!

Amazing to see our #TWHFENRich curriculum come to life both at school and at home. One of our preschoolers recreated the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears all by himself, including three bears, three chairs, three beds, three bowls, one house and one Goldilocks. It’s wonderful to see how our early years learning inspires creativity and storytelling beyond the classroom. 🐻 #EarlyYears @RodbourneCheney @WhiteHorseFed
