Psychodynamic therapy is effective and works quickly.
Talking therapies and dwelling on the past can do more harm than good, I agree.
I don't understand why this is the method of choice in the mental health space when there are better options.

How many intimate relationships survive if you don't want sex? It's no wonder their patients rarely recover. The profession is an utter disgrace.

"Psychiatry has a curious habit of giving awkward, unwieldy names to a cluster of symptoms and then pretending to understand said syndromes and how to treat them. A whole encyclopedia of Just So Stories gets created around these syndromes that ends up sounding a lot like How the Zebra Got Its Stripes."
