@w_sicklecell Your son might be to young for the hydroxyurea medication. It was originally a cancer drug. A lower dose may help with eliminating the frequency of crisis pain. Good luck...

I have a 2yr old son with sickle cell SS disease and he’s been having crisis since he was 5 months.The crisis have been coming more frequently now and his doctors want him to start hydroxyurea. Have any of you or ur children taken this medication? What are ur thoughts about it?
