In Mexico, we support several organizations year-round to demonstrate our commitment to #SocialResponsibility. One of our major initiatives in 2022 was the distribution of food items to support those in need in the Michoacán #community during the holiday season.

In FY 2020, we made a goal to increase our #charitable #giving by 400%, contributing to causes supporting children, families, and agricultural education. We’re proud to report that in FY 2022, we beat our goal and have increased our charitable giving by 450%!

At Mission, we believe education is key to personal and professional growth! We partnered with CEBA in Peru to offer our packhouse workers the chance to earn academic degrees. We're proud to announce that 28 of our employees graduated from the program in 2022! 🎉

Plastic reduction is a key part of our long-term sustainability strategy to reduce our environmental impact. Since 2021, our reduced plastic bags have saved more than 5.4 million grams of plastic, the equivalent of more than ~420,000 plastic bottles.* *U.S. EPA GHS Calculator

At Mission Produce, we quantify our #climate impact and identify opportunities to become more resource-efficient across our network. At our California packhouse, our #solar panels generated ~1.7 million kilowatt hours for the use of clean energy in our operations in FY 2022!

As part of our commitment to reduce the #environmental impact of our products, we have a goal to reduce the plastic in 50% of the bags we pack and ship globally by FY 2025. We’re quickly approaching this goal– in FY 2022, 46% of our bags were made with reduced #plastic!

Avocado trees provide a dual impact in combatting #climatechange– through carbon sequestration, they capture and store carbon dioxide (CO2), the most produced greenhouse gas, as well as convert CO2 into oxygen through photosynthesis.

At Mission Produce, we are committed to responsible farming. We plant our trees in harmony with their existing ecosystems to preserve our natural resources and care for the #biodiversity of our land. Across all Mission-managed farms, we have planted ~2 million trees globally!
