This one really struck home for as an inquiry or practitioner.
Connections✨

Connections✨
Connection is the curriculum. Keeping this as a reminder for the coming weeks.
Thank you @kwiens62
@jkenney@AdrianaLaGrange How dare you mislead the public into thinking you know how best to approach the curriculum and diminish the amazing strides teachers in this province have made and that Alberta has made as an educational leader in the world.
“[The new curriculum] will move the province's schools away from approaches known as "discovery" or "constructivist" learning, Education Minister @AdrianaLaGrange said” #abedcbc.ca/news/canada/ed…
@jkenney@AdrianaLaGrange At its core, constructivism means that each individual constructs their own meaning of the world based on their own knowledge and experience, which is further influenced by social and cultural factors. Are you going to tell me this is a false concept?
So many people have been texting me about bingeing New Girl while we #stayhome and it makes me so happy! What do you think the gang would be up to in quarantine together right now?
@EllenBrown28 This is something I am working on every day! Less talking and more listening. I just started reading a fabulous book you might be interested in, called #HackingQuestions by Connie Hamilton. I recommend it!
Chapter 1 in #HackingQs by @conniehamilton invites Ts to reconsider their group discussion format. Assume all Ss are capable of engaging (they are!), rather than the select few who raise their hands. How do we ensure all Ss get in on the discussion?
@19LEIP Are you sorry because you got caught? Would you be “learning and determining how to move forward” if the chat hadn’t been leaked to social media?
@EllenBrown28 Inquiry based learning means going deeper in your understanding of a concept. It means questioning. It means making meaningful connections between different concepts... butterfly clip art need not apply. 🦋
@EllenBrown28 When I think of themes, I think of everything you do being connected to that theme as a bit superficial and surface level. For eg., butterfly theme means we will have butterfly pictures on our math worksheet... there’s no meaningful connection...

I always think that my ideas are basic, then I get a complement here or there and it makes me question if my ideas are maybe more innovative then I thought! I’m slowly learning this and am beginning to share more ideas! On the flip side, I love hearing others ideas! #rcsdconnect
The base for our @WindsongHeights community mural is being installed. So very excited to welcome our artist in residence, @CMBPrintWorks to our school on Monday. These next two weeks are going to be EPIC! #rvsed
The rhetoric that we need to get rid of “discovery math” (that’s not a thing, by the way), return to phonics over whole language, and bring in more standardized testing is so insulting. #ableg#abdebate#abed /1
