Noticing that nobody is trashing AZ for drafting a RB early with a bad OL, no QB, and a bad team...
Just us, huh? #RaiderNation

@Sanjit__T There are a couple, maybe a handful of guys who could push their position groups competitively, maybe even for playing time and starter reps.
Denzel Boston, maybe?

Drop one of your favorite drafted Raiders, I'll start:

@dustinrhodes Yeah, I'd throw that one back in the oven to get some crunchy bits. I absolutely demand that from my pan pizzas.

Truth!
Excited!
Check out the free agent pickups who are probably starters or are better rotation pieces than we had last year.
The Silver and Black Joint is NOT messing around this year. A playoff run might not be a great first-year aspiration, but 1 to 2 games over .500 might be reasonable. By the same token, if all the new pieces have trouble getting together early on, maybe there's a little backslide into 7-9 win range is the low side of reasonable.
All of our free-agent pickups this year caught a lot of fans by surprise, in a good way. We can literally use this years draft to hand pick (after Fernando Mendoza, of course) to hand pick "needs" players that they feel can be coached up.
And by saying that, I mean if a need or needs are identified, players who are close together in terms of being at the same talent level are available, you can cherry-pick one of the best guys on day two and not be flustered that maybe just one guy wasn't available and you're caught scrambling. Also, if there's one player who is of "obviously makes us better" quality, then get him in. Then let's make the other guys in that position group compete.
And if someone with a lot of promise, but not quite up to speed with the others and can still learn and grow in the system, practice squad the guy. Moreover, use those PS slots for potential contributors instead of guys who are hanging around. We have a couple, but I'm punching up and not naming names; and it's mostly because I'm not an *armchair* GM who think a PS guy isn't getting better. Any human being in any endeavor always has the ability to improve, mature, add to their base of knowledge, improve more and so on.
Now this brings me to one last young man I have an eye on that we keep and pay regardless because of the International program: Laki Tasi. I was a lineman when I played the game, and line play always is a favorite of mine to watch. This mammoth of a man (6' 6" and 375 lbs.) was designated as a guard last year, but I'm wondering if the new regime might repurpose him based on how he's attacked the offseason. Rick Dennison, Travis Smith and Kenyon Jackson, I imagine, have talks about both sides of the ball, practices and so on. I think if they're doing anything with Tasi, they're probably turning this dude back to defense.
He came to us as a seasoned Rugby player. How do you get a guy who can run and tackle people in the open field at that size and not put him on the line. We could still use a draftee or free agent nose tackle in the building. But keep in mind that Thomas Booker IV or maybe Brodric Martin might be nose tackles for this system we already have in the building. If Taki learns his moveset and hand placement to keep blocks off of him, he might be the steal to steal all steals.
It's the offseason still, and I have been struck by literary elephantitis again. But yes, quite excited.

It's #NFLDraft Day #RaiderNation. Anticlimactic, in a way, but lots of excitement around Mendoza. How ya feelin'? #Raiders
